We stayed for 2 nights and are definitely coming back. We have stayed in Dolgellau numerous times but never at the Ship. The hotel is lovely, very bright, clean and airy, the staff are very helpful and can't do enough for you and the food is beautiful. The choice at breakfast is extensive and we would highly recommend the full...

This is a lovely hotel with tastefully decorated rooms and bar area. The staff is welcoming and helpful but there were couple of issues that made our stay "not as comfortable" as it could be! The main problem was that our rooms were not en-suite. We had couple of rooms booked as we went as a group and for both...

Following refurbishment last year, we have had lunch or dinner here every time we've been here on holiday since - 3 times so far. The new decor looks amazing; modern yet traditional and cosy. The staff are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent too, we have never been disappointed. We have not used the hotel...

We stayed at the end of May 2016. We are a family of 3. After an initial mix up over the room - which was swiftly sorted out - we had a comfortable over night stay. The room was modern, with large flat screen TV. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed a healthy good value meal. Wifi was impossible...

Being from Dolgellau I knew the Ship had been refurbished and was under new management, so decided to give it a go when family came to stay- what a mistake! The decor may be beautiful but the food and service are even worse.Firstly we waited well over 20 minutes for our drinks and the barman kept getting orders wrong, then...

We could not fault one single thing about The Royal Ship Hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel so welcome. The room was beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean, the food was delicious, great value for money & plentiful . All in all total value for money & we will definately return . We took our little...

We had a great stay at the Royal Ship. Staff was friendly and helpful, our room was lovely, quiet and spacious with a good bathroom. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant too. The next day we left very early for Cader Idris and came back in time for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Just stopping over for one night, the Royal Ship is right at the heart of this quaint Welsh town and popular with locals. The accommodation was good, and the standard of food and service in the restaurant cannot be faulted. £75 per night for a double B&B

Spent a lovely weekend in Dolgellau staying at the "Ship" ( weekend of the Cader Race) The refurbishment is tasteful and relaxing & very cleverly done. My room was excellent, bed very comfortable & I especially liked the bathroom & shower. Every member of staff was helpful, friendly & courteous, the whole atmosphere was happy & relaxed.
