Lovely afternoon tea, good standard, attentive service and lovely to walk around the gardens beforehand to see the peacocks against the ancient backdrop of the castle. Also sits in a beautiful historical town mainly made up of small independent shops.

Lovely hotel which is well appointed and in an excellent position in the sqUare. However, the customer service is very poor. The staff are young and obviously need some training. It us probably worth a go if you don't mind being ignored .

We stayed for a two night break at Ruthin castle and I must say, It was absolutely fabulous. Our room in the old part on the third floor could have done with an update, (badly cracked ceiling, shoddy door and temperamental lock) but the room itself was very large, with a settee in a little turret style bay. There was...

We arrived at the Hotel before 12.00 noon and our room was ready which was a bonus as the wedding was 12.30. Our room (101) was quite a trek but well worth it as we were away from any noise (and peacocks). It is a well specified and comfortable room and we had a good rest. The breakfast was a...

Beautiful Castle full of atmosphere with lovely gardens and interesting ruins to explore. Great staff and lovely accommodation. High quality food in the restaurant. My one complaint about the food is the very small portions. We had to have supper from room service to fill up.

We stayed here 5 years ago and loved it so much we tried to extend our stay but they were booked. We always wanted to go back and finally did 2 weeks ago. It was just as lovely and peaceful as we remembered it. The grounds are in wonderful condition and there are peacocks and peahens everywhere. The public rooms...

We treated my parents to afternoon tea as part of their Christmas present. We arrived earlier than the time we booked for, but no problem we were taken to the restaurant and pots of tea were provided immediately. After about 30 minutes, the waitress apologised for the delay - a wedding party had just arrived - & would we like...

To say that we were disappointed with our visit is an understatement. We visited with our friends in April, who have already commented about the poor service we experienced during our stay. I have on 2 occasions sent e-mails to express our concerns about our stay, and over 2 months on I have yet to receive a reply. It would...

So excited ... It was on my bucket list to stay at an actual castle, looked at the picture on the website ... It's going to be incredibly memorable! Doing an Ancestry exploration tour for my 70th birthday .. This will be a highlight! Turns out, it wasn't! The hotel is beautiful without a doubt, logs burning in a fireplace....
