The hotel is in a nice location, with great grounds, friendly staff, and we were lucky to have great weather. The rooms, while nice are very basic (we were informed that we had been given the best room). It is very far from other places, so be prepared to travel unless you plan to spend most of your time at...

Thank you for taking time out in writing a review. Yes, we agree that we are located within a rural countryside location, with many of our guests taking advantage of our location only 20 minutes from Cardigan Bay, 20 minutes from the Cambrian Mountains and only 30 minutes from the Brecon Beacons. There are also 3 National Trust properties within...

Our stay was for two nights, off peak. We found the hotel staff very friendly, the public rooms light and airy, the hotel grounds set in a beautiful and quiet location. Our spacious room had a 4 poster bed, countryside views and en suite. The drive up to the hotel is beautiful and about a mile long. We decided to...

My husband and I booked a short break here to celebrate our Pearl wedding anniversary. From the initial warm welcome every effort was made to ensure that our stay was a pleasure from start to finish. The room was very comfortable and the views from the balcony were stunning. We were accompanied by our two Border Collies who greatly appreciated...

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome (well done Caroline),the room was fine, clean and of good size . A short walk in the extensive grounds(assisted by a walking guide provided at the hotel) blew off the cobwebs of the journey. The tasting menu was excellent and nothing too much trouble for our American waiter Derek. Extensive...

Lovely comfortable hotel. The staff were very helpful too. Food was good but some things on the 7course taster menu were not to my liking. However everything was cooked & displayed to perfection on the plate. Breakfast was exceptionally good, everything had been thought of.

Agree with all reviews that the hotel is good and food fab, BUT, if you are going to book, I strongly advise you that my room was: • Bed like sleeping on slate it was so hard • Shower more like a drip (ladies, bad hair day every day) • Hair Dryer sockets no where near reaching mirrors • Large...

A lovely hotel in an equally lovely setting. Bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy. Loved the decor in our four poster room. We had a lovely view onto the side gardens. Very peaceful in the hotel and gardens. Lots of places to chill out quietly just a lovely atmosphere throughout hotel. As it was cold and a bit wet I...

The approach to the hotel was delightful, with fields on either side, with sheep & lambs. The reception was warm, friendly and the young lady even helped carry our cases to our room. The room was warm, clean and we were pleased. It is an hotel full of old fashioned warmth & charm. The breakfast for us a delight, plenty...

We were given a very nice room but asked to move because of the noise of the extractor fan. The staff were very obliging and we ended up in a superior room at no extra cost. This had a beautiful view across the valley and the only noise came from the sheep! This is a very pleasant hotel in a...

One of my all time favourite hotels. It is located in an old continental style mansion, with lots of staircases and little landings. Fascinating story about how it was lost to the family over a game of cards in London! The decor is old fashioned and unchanged, over furnished but charming. I always get the feeling that I have entered...
