Detailed Reviews
We stayed here as an emergency during our holiday locally. We had an emergency with our holiday cottage and were offered 'emergency' alternative local accommodation and we were very glad to be offered rooms here. We are so grateful to the hotel staff for allowing us to stay at such a late hour and for being so welcoming to us and our 7 year old when we were all a bit tired and stressed.
The large rooms and bathrooms were well equipped with comfortable pillows and warm clean linen and fluffy white towels were provided. The bathroom had a bath with toiletries provided, which were very welcome given our 'emergency' circumstances.
Breakfast was great too (we particularly liked the thick bacon!) and was served promptly and courteously.
I felt the hotel was very safe in terms of COVID with our temperatures checked on arrival and loads of hand sanitiser points throughout. The tables at breakfast were all spaced far apart and staff wearing PPE.
Thanks again for your help.

Sandra and the team extended a warm Pembrokeshire welcome to our group when we visited. This has to be our go to venue when visiting Haverfordwest for an evening meal. Covid secure, quick service, quality home cooked food with vast choice for all taste, reasonably priced, with a good selection of wines amd beers including Peroni on tap!!

Checked out today from a 3 night stay with hubby & my daughter.
Room was clean (ish - a bit of elbow grease in the bathroom & around window frames needed)
Staff friendly (although some of the waiting staff need to pop their noses back inside their masks).
Breakfast was good with quality ingredients.
Our room had seen better days, there was a good inch of carpet bar exposed between the bedroom & bathroom which exposed the sharp pins. No anti slip mat in the bath, shower head needed unblocking & 1 of our windows wasn’t functional as the hinges broken. All of these housekeeping issues reported to reception on our departure.
However the hotel & room sufficed the purpose of our stay.
The selling point of this hotel - location.

In response to your review. Since your departure the highlighted points have been dealt with; and the carpet stretched so it is now fitting correctly. In response to the one waitress regarding her mask on a breakfast shift; the elastic had become loose; and was soon replaced by a new one.

We booked a dog friendly hotel where you cannot take your dog in the bar or restaurant. This was not stated anywhere. We was only told when I walked my dog through the bar. This is not dog friendly. They expect you to leave your anxious pet alone.
The room we was put in had dirty sheets, ripped carpet, the window was broke and wouldn’t open. Really old and dated. The floor was completely on an angle and as I walked to the bathroom I nearly fell over. The floor boards are horrendous, it sounds like someone is coming in through your room as people walk past. This made the dog bark all the time.
I asked to change rooms, they did say they would change us rooms but only the day after. This seemed pointless once we had only had one more night left. I expected a refund of some sort because it is so over priced for what you receive. Just an apology, this still means someone will stay in that same room after me with no changes. They came to fix the carpet the day after (which they already knew about before they put us in the room).
The breakfast was really nice on the Friday and Sunday. The Saturday staff where rude, forgetful and the food was undercooked. It took around an hour for our breakfast to arrive and a coffee because they forgot.
The reception staff where friendly.
The cleaning staff where unprofessional. They also stood at our door saying if they want us to come back we’d have to do XYZ. When this was happening my dog ran out the room and down the stairs because they left the door open.
Overall, I think it’s quite possibly the worst hotel I’ve ever stopped in. I always write good reviews as I don’t think people do them enough. But I couldn’t not write about my experience over the weekend because I really thing things need to change. It’s like staying at faulty towers.

My Wife and me decided to take a late summer break at Hotel Mariners , to get over the Covid blues .
We stayed for four nights , which were all just like 'returning home' & being among family & friends , such was the warm welcome we received from all as we signed in . Everyone of the Management & Staff were absolutely very warm & inviting .
My wife had been shielding during lockdown so was understandably a bit nervous on her first venture out in months , but the Manager soon put her at ease , when he pointed out what safety measures were in place , with self distancing & various hand sanitisation points throughout the hotel .
The whole hotel, rooms ,bar & restaurant was spotlessly clean , and regularly sanitised throughout .
The menu in the restaurant was sumptuous , to say the least , with tempting fare on offer for all . We tried something different each evening , and were never disappointed .
Breakfast was just as good , with a choice of cereals, toast & various selections of 'Full English' on offer .
We have stayed at Hotel Mariners several times and never been disappointed .
Will definitely be returning again , cannot endorse this Hotel enough to do it justice . We love staying here .

The only good thing about this place is the restaurant, the food and atmosphere were nice. In terms of our stay, the room wasn't fully clean when we checked in (there was dust everywhere) and wasn't cleaned during our 4-night stay; the bed was not made and the mugs we used were not cleaned or changed. On top of this, the room was too hot (independent of the weather outside). Thus we had to keep our windows open even during the night. However, there was a noisy pub just in front and we were woken up 3 out of the 4 nights by drunk people shouting. We were told nothing could be done about it. Overall, we were expecting much more from this hotel considering the price we payed..!

We stayed here for a couple of nights with a party of friends.
Room was enormous and a lovely touch was that staff turned the heating on early evening to make sure we came back to a warm room. Comfy beds and tea/ coffee making facilities.
Breakfasts were wonderful particularly the fatty bread!! We only had one evening meal but it was amazing. We were quite a large group and food had been pre ordered. Everyone had meals delivered at same time and portions were very generous.
All staff were so friendly in bar, reception, housekeeping staff can not fault.
Thank you

It's the first time we have stayed at the Hotel Mariners but it will not be our last.
From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff were welcoming and the service throughout was very good....the rooms are first class and eventhogh it is in the centre of town it is quiet at night with a relaxing ambience throughout the Hotel...Perfect location for visiting the County and in these difficult times Covid measures observed without detracting from our stay. Did not have a meal at the Hotel except for breakfast which was very good.

3 minute walk from the High Street and about 12 from the rail station. Plenty of guest parking. Our visit was during Covid regulations so some restrictions applied, but the hotel was full and it was nice to see many of them using both the bar and restaurant (not always the case in some hotels). Our en-suite twin room was very large. Nothing fancy and not that modern, but comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good to very good.

We had dinner here for a big birthday, from the outset the owners make you feel incredibly welcome and are attentive and kind. The bar has a great atmosphere and buzz and the menu is fantastic. Had a lovely meal and bottle of wine. Brilliant night and we’ll definitely be back.
