We visit Penllwyn Lodges every year, sometimes twice a year and we absolutely love it. I've been coming here for 3 years but some of my friends have been visiting for many many years. A group of us visit the lodges every year to have a get together and let our hair down. We book anything from 2 to 6... More

We spent four nights in The Captain's Cabin which is one of the Pennllwyn Lodges in Garthmyl, Powys, central Wales. Our cabin offers a fantastic view of the golf course below and countryside beyond. A short walk on the grounds also takes you to a pond and ducks and even a pig! PRIVACY: This lodge is about 200 metres from... More

Lovely place had a 4 night break in May. Accommodation was ok but very dark inside due to the dark wood and eco bulbs. Lodges are very well spaced out and thoughtfully placed so as not to overlook anyone. Decor etc is a little tired but overall very nice. We stayed at the loft which was cosy but had an... More

I have stayed at these lodges several times, they are in a fantastic setting, well equipped and very warm. We were in the Alpine Lodge this time which has great views over the golf course. If you fancy a pub meal the Black Boy in Newtown is worth a visit. I will certainly stay here again.

This is a great spot for a quiet break. The lodges are spaced out well and have great views. We stayed in The Beeches lodge which was very clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We recomend a walk along the canal and a visit to the Nags head for lunch and a drink on the way.

We have just spent Easter weekend with our two sons and their wife and partner and our two Granddaughters aged 5 and 2 at Penllwyn Lodges. We had a lovely weekend! Set in wonderful countryside with lots of birds to spot, nice little play area for the girls and animals to look at. The Lodges are set out with lots... More

My new girlfriend found this place when we were looking for a quiet and secluded place (with a hot tub) to have a weekend away - we could not have asked for better. An absolute gem of a place with everything we needed for our weekend getaway. We stayed in Hollie's cottage (2 person cabin) which is brilliant. Only minor... More

Stayed here with family and friends, in one of the larger lodges. As a few reviews say, the accommodation isn't modern, but that didn't detract from a lovely holiday. The lodge was spacious, warm and well equipped and offered us everything we needed. Right outside there were places for the kids to explore and discover. The site is located in... More

The lodges are not the most modern or fancy on the market but they have all the mod cons needed for a comfortable stay. they are in a great setting, well spread out, and with good views over the lake or golf course. The facilities include free fishing in the lake and discount green fees for the testing little 9... More

We had a lovely Monday to Friday break staying in the Mountain lodge. In our group there was 3 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 10 years. The views were beautiful! We were greeted with a friendly smile and made to feel very welcome. We were all impressed with the cabin, lots of room and plenty of utensils, plates... More
