I wanted to give this place 5 stars. It's absolutely beautiful, new, amazing pool below and even more amazing rooftop jacuzzi with terrace. The room was superb. The staff were super responsive over whatsapp.

The only thing that needs improvement is that the reception is not complete, so there is no front desk. The room where the staff sits is a closed door that says "management." There is no sign that tells you where to enter the hotel. There is no way to know where to check in. We walked around for too long looking. Then we knocked on the management room door and someone checked us in.

The problem is that the front door stays open to the street when no staff are watching or even on duty. The "management" door is always closed. It's just not safe that anyone can walk in off the street and have access to the rooms and pools.

The staff hours are supposed to be there 10am-3pm, then they come back at 4:30pm... strange. But the morning I was there, no one was in until 11am to answer my questions about room service and checking out. Supposedly there is room service but no menu in the room and no information about how to order it.

A proper luxury hotel needs someone at the front desk at all hours of the day. I would still like to go back because the hotel itself was high quality, and the double room we booked split among 4 people was very affordable.

Hi Kristine! Thank you for your comment. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel and also we are aware that the lobby is a must in any kind of accommodation like ours. We are a new hotel (only 3 months old) that is constantly adjusting its service to the expectations of our clientele. We have started our operations during the pandemic of Covid and due to high restrictions on occupancy and personal contact we had to cut back on our office hours and that’s why we use our WhatsApp to attend any kind of issue or request after the office closes. The good news is that our lobby will be open soon (starting in December) and it will operate for more hours. We hope to see you back soon!

Let me start by saying I highly recommend this hotel. We are Starwood/Marriott folks and have stayed everything from St, Regis to “W” to Westins (obviously prefer St Regis), so we have lots to compare this to. Granted, it’s not a luxury property, but thought it was great. The location is perfect. A two minute walk into town and 5 minutes to the beach. We stayed in Luxury King Suite, Las Palmeras, for about $150/night. Room was spacious and clean, with a nice view of the pool and a little balcony. The hotel itself is eco-chic with a roof deck with two large jacuzzis and a spaces to sit and hangout or work. The doors on the rooms are magnificent. Seems like a weird thing to notice, but they are remarkable. Only complaints are the internet which stinks (I mean really stinks) and the they are a bit stingy with towels and bottled water and the like. We front desk staffer was a bit snarky too, but overall I would stay here again and highly recommend. Go to Cielo Rojo for breakfast. Right next door. They have a beautiful little courtyard and the food is great.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Agua De Luna for the entire month of June and we're already pining to go back. The accommodations are otherworldly, and the staff is full of the loveliest, most caring humans you'll ever meet. We were fortunate enough to stay in multiple rooms, and each one was as pristine and carefully designed as the last.

Cairo went completely out of his way to make us feel at home for the duration of our stay - he exudes everything good, all of the time; he truly is Aque De Luna. We also can't thank Ximena enough, or the lovely folks at the downstairs cafe (Amariyya), Alejandro and Fernanda. I'd be remiss not to thank the entire housekeeping staff - they were so fun to chat with and their attention to detail is second to none! We hope to be back soon to soak up every bit of the jaw-dropping paradise that is Aqua De Luna.

Overall the hotel is showing a lot of wear. In our “suite” the linens/towels had stains, the shower was not draining, had mould and flooded the bathroom because of poor design. The floor to ceiling windows in our room were taking on water when it rained, and the AC did not work. They did offer a minibar with bottled water, soda and beer, but it was never restocked. The room itself is not sound proof at all. We were woken by noise and lot.

The hotel itself is also very worn down. The rental bikes were broken, the outdoor pools were dirty with chipping tiles and debris all the time.

Our biggest issue was when we booked the hotel it was prominently advertised as small, quiet and adults only (18+) However when we arrived we had two children in the accomodations above us and often using the pool very loudly. Not the romantic, ideallic setting we were sold on when a mom is screaming their kids name at the top of her lungs daily.

The hotel never informed us of the change in policy even after we checked in.

Given the high price point, I cannot recommend this place; especially not if you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway.

The cafe was nice though and the staff did try and accomodate us in some requests where possible. So, that was appreciated.

The most beautiful boutique hotel experience we’ve ever had. To start, the hotel architecture with old style breeze blocks is amazing. The pool is sleek with trees surrounding it and two rooftop spas with San Pancho views. The beds are super comfortable and the bathroom in the room is so cool. However, the best part of the experience is the people. Both Marcus and Catalina at the front desk are so relatable. I even asked Catalina about doing a yoga class for my family in the rooftop and she just happened to be a yogi master who gave us the class the next morning. The most wonderful hour that we spent in San Pancho during that class. San Pancho is so chill and this hotel fits perfectly. + they have a great coffee bar for locals and guest by the lobby.

Let me get to the point....

This is one of the best hotels in the area with a great design. I feel it was very well located with spacious rooms, comfy beds, great pillows, heated floors in the bathroom, acclimated temperature in rooms, well maintained and clean. This hotel is NOT a party hotel which I appreciated.

I am a travel agent, lifestyle blogger and reside in Mexico full time. I travel around to discover and blog about beautiful hotels. I take pride in sharing hotels with my audience but this one feels so special that I have not shared my stay publicly. It was tranquil....easy..peaceful. So if you are considering a different hotel, don't..just book your room and enjoy !

What a wonderful gem. Super clean, quality amenities & lovely people. Our room was spacious & well appointed. The balcony facing the stone street looked out over the roofs to the jungle. Bed & bedding were comfortable, generous & quality. The decor is stunningly simple, with native vibes. Beautiful teak doors and accents. Contemporary quality fixtures & all well maintained surfaces. The shower - well, could have easily spend most the day in there. Dreamy. The toiletries were lovely green tea, mint mixtures that smelled amazing but not over powering. Honestly, the whole place feels like Mexico on zen.

We woke up before dawn with the roosters - charming. Last night we hung out in the room top grande jacuzzi, exhausted from traveling all day, watched the gorgeous sunset through the coconut trees. Yoga mats available & classes on the weekends. The cafe is cheerful, open air & again super clean & decorated well. Restful & simply elegant.

Ingrid checked us in and emailed us a wonderful restaurant list. Everyone at the hotel was charming & helpful. We loved this place. We will be back for sure.

A friend recommended we stay here after he spent a month or so at this property. First we were told King Bed and then before trip told it was a mistake due to their system. At the property we were often told to leave the jacuzzi earlier then the time on the pool, one day we were told to exit the room for cleaning and then no cleaning, my debit card disappeared with more defensiveness, and overall we stayed 8 nights and mostly it was not welcoming. Happy to talk more to the manager if there is concern. We were hoping for a wonderful experience and will not be staying again.

Beautiful hotel located in central San Pancho. Great restaurants nearby and a short walk to the beach. The staff was outstanding and very helpful. It was the perfect spot to stay with my partner. The pool is a really nice place to hang out when it is too hot to go to the beach and the rooftop jacuzzi has a beautiful view. I definitely will be back at Agua De Luna! Thank you to Ingrid and Cairo for your amazing hospitality!

By far the best hotel in San Pancho. Price and design are way better than other options we were interested in. The roof Jacuzzi was amazing 360° view of all the beautiful mountains and ocean view of this little magical town.
Also Cairo and Martha where amazing giving us the best tips for our trip in Mexico.
Totally recommend this place
