Tired , definitely budget but clean. For price would have expected few more extras. Tea and coffee supplies never topped up. Saw reception staff twice in three days. Problem with room access card, reported but never satisfactorily. Glad we were out and about. Good location.

Arrived on a Sunday early afternoon. Room key had been left in a safe with instructions of where room was. Never saw anyone in reception during our stay and we left room keys in the room when we left. They say free breakfast ,but never got any guide on where or when. Budget room ,was old ,small but tidy and...

We paid for the family studio and got what we paid for. Nothing more, nothing less. It's basic, clean and does the job for those that want to go sightseeing and enjoy the area rather than spending the whole time in the accommodation. When we arrived there wasn't anyone on the reception desk. But there was a phone and clear...

We loved Manly Lodge! Great position with a good vibe. Was awesome to be there for the opening of Hakans new restaurant/coffee place. Great coffee and amazing service! We had room number 30 down the back, which was nice and quiet. Will stay again.

This is the third occasion I have stayed at the lodge. Excellent location for Sydney and very reasonable. Accommodation is basic, no frills but has until now been extremely clean and well furnished. Sadly this time the cleanliness left a little to be desired. Whoever cleaned the bathroom obviously never closed the door or they would have seen how grimey...

Hakan - maker of Manly's best coffee - has moved into the restaurant space at Manly Lodge today to host the coolest coffee spot around. Hakan already has a huge following & this new space, uber kewl, is his best effort yet. Get yourself there for breakfast from 6 am until 4.30 pm. North facing on Victoria Parade, it's sunshine...

We had a standard room. It was comfortable, clean and in reasonable condition. Some grout missing on the floor, but it had everything in it that we needed. Stayed for 3 nights, had no problem with facilities, nor the staff. Certainly it is not the Ritz, but it doesn't claim to be either. For a standard place it is a...

The room in the hotel was old, bathroom was new though. The room was very stuffy and not clean. It was also noisy. In the morning we found a big cockroach on the floor. The receptionist was accurate about us leaving one night earlier and refunded the night.

We recently stayed 2 nights at the Manly Lodge, and like any place you can find fault. However in general it was ideal location, great size room (suite 30) for our family of 5. Yes, there is no parking. That didn't effect us, however I have read reviews prior and after staying, and if you did your homework before booking...

This Hotel calls itself a boutique hotel. What a joke. We paid $225.00 a night. We knew it wasn't going to be great when we arrived to a reception that was behind locked shutters. This was in the day. Very unwelcoming. The room was extremely basic although the bathroom had been renovated and did have a very nice shower. The room...

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
