Pluses - It is very close to the beach and eating precinct. Minuses - There is no parking on the premises or on the street (max 2 hrs) until after 10pm each day and you have to share one bathroom and toilet with the other 6 rooms on your floor. Our sheets had oily stains on them, there was an...

Hi Linda, we are always interested in feedback and do thank you for your review. We cannot find any record of you staying so I do not know which room you were in but I am surprised about your comments on the bed. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The lady was great when we booked in. unfortunately we are nearly 70 and we were on the 3rd floor. No fault of the establishment poorly old age. The only thing I could comment on was the dreadful cooking smell from the kitchen.

I stayed here for a night when I came over to check out the sights of Manly and hang out on the beach. Manly guesthouse is an older style dorm room set-up but parts have been modernised (toilet and bathrooms. New carpets and paintwork in the rooms). Though some parts of the building betray their origins (the floor of the...

LOCATION: A short walk from Manly Wharf (5-10minutes). It is located in Steinton St. Also, you can ride a bus from Manly Wharf Stand A. PRICE/VALUE: At 100AUD, it is pricey. However, given the competition and the very expensive place that is Manly, I would call this reasonable. Plus, you have great amenities like shared kitchen, and common area. The...

After the first night I was ready to pack up and forgo the money from second night, I should of. The room was incredibly stuffy and beyond noisy. Drunk people coming and going till 5.00am in the morning, this accomodation should not be confused, it's a backpackers. The 2 stars is only for its fantastic proximity to beach.

I stayed here in 2012. The building is old and the wooden floors make the typical noise. My Standard Queen Room was very nice. The house was in walking distance to the Corso and the beach. People were friendly and the shared bathrooms were clean.

We have had a lot of work done since 2012 so you would certainly notice a lot of improvements, including having the floorboards tightened before the new carpet was laid. The building is 100 years old this year so we are constantly doing renovations and more major works to keep her in good repair. We hope to see you again...

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
