The Hotel is literally a few minutes walk to International Terminal. Perfect hotel for early morning flights or if time is critical.
CheckIn was extremely fast and easy and we were surprised that you can actually pick the location of your room; close to elevator , far from elevator, city view, airport view, etc… CheckIn is accomplished at a kiosk but a person will quickly help you if needed. Room was extremely utilitarian with every inch organized to maximize available space. Large walk in shower , separate enclosed toilet, sink is actually totally separate and part of room. Water pressure was excellent and temperature good. Towels are small but work given we were there just as an overnight before a flight. Bed was comfortable; A/C worked well. There isn’t a light that can be used as a nightlight so, lights were either on or off.
Breakfast was buffet style and somewhat limited and quality was a bit pedestrian but was fine.
Checkout was very quick.

Stayed overnight midweek. The optimal location for linking to international flights, the hotel being directly opposite the Sydney International Terminal, the train station and transfer buses. Room was spacious, quiet and well equipped, with the most comfortable bed we have ever had in a hotel. There is a quality restaurant and a bar/bistro - both very good. A top breakfast buffet. We opted for a 'Plane Spotter package' which gives a top floor room with sweeping views of the runways and terminal. Watching an A380 come in, load and take off from close range is seriously good! Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. A really good stay all-round.

Is an airport hotel, what can you say more? But I can see some improvements since I was last here. They provide electric kettle, good mugs and cups in the room. Toiletries Shampoo, Conditioner and Shower gel are mark with BIG CAPS which really help when you're so tired. Lights are easy to navigate and modern. No body lotion or slippers provided.
But they can do better by changing away their bedsheets and towels. They smell! Either that or change laundry detergent!!! As current sheets and towels smell like used.
Breakfast is reasonable spread. Charging at AU 36 per pax, they should be able to dedicate a person to do an omelette. They can only do sunny side up, said no omelette is to be served. I thought was pretty sad. Coffee machine at breakfast is poor and can't serve out a good cappuccino. Husband has to go elsewhere to purchase a better one.
Gym is 24hrs but 3 treadmills only 1 is working. Can you PLEASE do maintanence and check on your treadmill everyday? Is not a tall order. Most airport hotels you see guest heading to gym at all kinds of hours to wake up and feel better. The last thing we need is to go find someone to help with the treadmill.
Overall a small king size bedroom cost AU 361 a night and they allow us to check out at 12pm. I think is reasonable. They can upgrade their gym treadmill, sheets and towels to smell better and get a good coffee machine at breakfast.

We enjoyed two excellent overnight stays last week, one planned, the other last minute when our Qantas flight struck birds on the outbound flight and had to return to Sydney (the flight subsequently cancelled for the day). The hotel is adjacent to the international car park and is very comfortable, sound proofed against external noise, well built, more spacious than expected and everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. From the first moment, all staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed afternoon tea, dinner, lunch and another dinner in Smithy’s Bar/bistro on the ground floor and recommend the menu range and reasonable prices (Rydges membership receive 20% discount on all food and beverages). This hotel has become our first choice when needing to stay overnight before catching early morning international flights.

Ideal location if you have an early morning flight to catch - no messing around with cabs, shuttles or trains. The hotel is not actually inside the terminal, like transit hotels in some airports, rather it is directly opposite International Arrivals, Departures being one floor up. Taxis will drop you at Reception. For the first six nights of our one week stay in Sydney we had booked one of the hotels in Darling Harbour, which was great, and just wanted a hassle-free final night close to the airport - this hotel fitted the bill completely. The Superior Queen Room we stayed in was smaller than what you'd get for a similar price in a city centre hotel, however it was perfectly fine for our final night requirements - you're paying for the location and convenience. The shower and toilet were separate but the washbasin was in the room, around the corner from the bed. In summary, a functional hotel without being super-luxurious and great for that final night.

Sunday morning couldn’t get a light breakfast (buffet breakfast only). Had to go over to the airport for coffee and toast/croissants. No coffee cups in the room either (found a couple of large mugs) and only coffee sachets for one person. Otherwise no complaints about our stay.

The water kettle was broken. I called the reception, room service and house keeping for help. Nobody answered. I had to go downstairs to the reception to raise the matter. Not enough soup for two people. Can you provide liquid soup next to the hand basin rather than a measly bar of soap.

The Rydges is perfectly located just across the road from T2 and next to the long stay international car park. That’s the good bits.
Despite quite helpful staff the hotel is let down by an appalling food service offering. Everything on the menu comes from the freezer or a ready prepared bag delivered by a food service truck.
Apparently they have a head chef. You wouldn’t know it.
Whilst you expect to get ripped off a bit for the convenience of an airport location, it’s rare to get mugged quite this badly.
If you have to stay here, go to the Maccas in the terminal or see if you can get an Uber. Whatever you do, don’t embarrass yourself with the restaurant.

Check in was fine Room was clean however towels and linen are looking aged There were what looked like blood/ balsamic vinegar stains on sheets on one of the beds We paid for a room for 4 people however there were only 2 coffee cups, 6 milk servings (which are so small to be laughable) The Aurora coffee sachets have to be the worst available in hotels world wide. It taste like ground elephant dung would if you were to drink it. There is a large gap in the glass between the wall and the door in the shower in Room 424.

Easily booked online, check in easy also but getting to be less and less staff at reception - all leading to 'do it yourself'. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the shower area/bathroom was very clean but no notepaper or biro/pencil to be seen. The airport view rooms are good, helping fill in time before/after flights before catching flights the day after. Have stayed here many times on our way from or returning to Australia and almost always have a drink at Smithy's (sometimes a meal - depending on time of arrival ) on return and a meal at The Ascot before heading overseas and on return. Last year we ate twice at The Ascot (slow cooked shoulder of lamb both times - excellent), but this time we were advised that there is NO member discount because 'it's a fixed price menu'. Doesn't do much for loyalty of members. Last year the lamb was $98.00 with 20 % off the meal and drinks. This year the same meal is $130.00 with no discounts - even despite lamb prices being cheaper now than 2023. The 'set menu' includes dessert for two if purchasing the lamb, but we found that you wouldn't need dessert after sharing the lamb. Maybe Rydges 'win' here as not many have dessert after the lamb? We certainly would have eaten at The Ascot if members discounts were included. We were also advised that Smithys has 20% off food and drinks but we weren't overly impressed with Smithys last year so didn't eat there either. We ate elsewhere before we left Australia, and on our return so Rydges got exactly 100% of nothing in their restaurants.
