It's a beautifull old lodge, but an old lodge comes with some disadvantages. The wall's are thin, you can hear your neighbour guests snorting, you know when they visit the bathroom... Room was small, not must room for luggage for our r weeks trip. Breakfast...More
We stayed a couple of nights at Karbeethong Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Lodge is a few minutes drive from central Mallacoota on a tranquil rise overlooking the water and hills. Most rooms open on to the deep verandah that runs most of the...More

Thank you Jen for your kind words. I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay and got to experience this beautiful part of the world and some of its colourful inhabitants! Thanks also for reminding me to let our guests know that we do actually have Wifi....More
The house itself is lovely with a beautiful view in a gorgous area. A communal kitchen and cosy veranda brought back the old backpacker feeling.
The rooms were basic and cold and not comfortable for us.
Karbeethong Lodge is located in a beautiful setting overlooking the lakes at Mallacoota. I really enjoyed my stay: sitting on the verandah in the morning eating the delicious breakfast (muesli with home-cooked apples, currants and very yummy yoghurt), walking the lakeshore, watching the evening sky...More

Thanks to our wonderful host and we look forward to returning again....very soon.
Don't drive past the Mallacoota. Turn off and treat yourself...More

No, part of the beauty of the place is that it doesn't have TV/Foxtel and you don't miss it. In fact, that is one of the things that make it special. The Guests actually talk to each other and the kids do things they normally wouldn't such as board games, card games, reading etc rather than sitting in front of "the Box" and not communicating. Don't take the lack of having a TV as a negative, it's actually a positive. There is a great little pub in town, a picture theatre and your days will be relaxing exploring the beaches, lakes area, bushwalking or just lazing on the front verandah taking in the views.
You'll enjoy your stay.
