Due to short notice plans, we knew that finding accommodation over the Easter Weekend would be a big ask. Imagine my elation when the lovely ladies at Mansfield Information Center told us there was a vacancy at the grand, old Highton Manor!! Staying in a "motel style room" which was converted stables - it sounded quaint and romantic! Without hesitation,... More

The building is a stately home built in 1896, tower and all. One can stay in the house for bed and breakfast (which we opted for) or in the motel style accommodation a short walk away. The grounds are spacious and the views very pleasant. Our host, Joseph, is a genial and engaging man; and it seems he is also... More

My husband and I chose to stay at Heighton initially because it looked like a quaint Victorian Manor. It appeared charming with a description of vineyards and a pool on the grounds. Boy were we taken aback! Upon arrival at the closed gate, the sign indicated that the Manor was closed. I called the manager's phone number which was posted,... More

An authentically restored grand country home. Complete with battlements, cedar joinery, and surrounding vineyards, this home is imposing inside and out. The owners have decorated it with lots of fine period pieces, all done to excess, as you might imaging the orginal country squire would have wished. The large double rooms at the front are beautifully appointed, with great beds... More

Stopped in Mansfield for the day after a long drive and landed at the manor. It is summer, the skiing season is not there so the town was pretty quiet. W estayed at the stable which had been converted into rooms with attached bathroom, TV and the other usual amenities. The environment at the manor is very quiet and beautifully rustic. i... More

We were warmly greeted by Joseph on check in and he had our room ready to go, with heater going and light on. The room was as described on the internet; simple, clean and basic. Bed was comfortable, with electric blankets available and a spare blanket in the cupboard. The wall heater was adequate, however my husband found it too... More

It was a long weekend and I have to start off that they were accommodating to give us a room at short notice. When I rang he said that he had the penthouse available and that was usually 380 he would do for 250 a night. I quickly said yes as I though what a bargain and the accomodation at... More

We stayed in stables motel. Rooms very basic and dark. Dirty cups and dishes left in small kitchenette which made making a cup of coffee undesirable. Sheets and towels were clean, but rooms could definitely be renovated. Friends stayed in the house, but were given a double bed for their two adult sons when they had booked two single beds.... We held a special dinner here for close family and friends and stayed in the beautiful upstairs rooms and the stables motel rooms. It was all perfect. Joe, the host, epitomises welcoming enthusiasm and helpfulness. He and his wife think carefully about the menu for their excellent meals and they have a great wine cellar, including their own home made... More

We discovered Highton Manor a couple of months ago and are back for our second visit. Beautiful old house and lovely gardens you can spend all day relaxing in. We stayed in the motel rooms in the converted stable and they were basic but clean and comfortable. Dinner in the dining room is a must! 4 courses of delicious Italian... More
