Enjoy your stay in Peterborough!
Bay of Islands apartments are located behind the general store in the quaint little town of Peterborough. The apartments offer privacy and are spacious , clean, modern and very comfortable. They are equipped with everything that you could possibly want or need . There is a veranda to enjoy on those warm evenings . Yes it’s behind the general store but the view of the small town is enjoyable and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is delightful. There are two apartments side by side with a shared bbq and clothes line .Each apartment has a car space for one car . The owner sends through a code to access the key so need to worry if you are arriving late . Peterborough is a small town with a general store which offers petrol , fish n chips and pizza , pizza was delicious. There is a grocery store across the road where you can get basic groceries and ice . There is also a bistro/pub at the motel a street away . There is ocean access to swim in at the end of the Main Street . Peterborough is 20 mins from 12 Apostles and 5/6 mins from a number of other sights notably the Bay of Islands , the location allows you to enjoy the sites in the evening minus the daytime crowds . Thoroughly recommend Bay of Islands apartments you will not be disappointed! …
Lovely touch that the owner left the air conditioning on for when we arrived as it was a warm day. The apartment is comfortable, with decent sized kitchen, open living area and full sized fridge. Great place to stay if doing day trips on Great Ocean Road. Beds were also very comfortable. However, I had to clean the shower as there were quite a lot of hairs in there when we arrived. Otherwise everything was quite clean. The apartments are right behind the general store/take away shop, so great if want to grab take out. Interesting it also doubles as the petrol station which was interesting to be behind. The grocer is across the road, making it handy to grab a few groceries. Although, if you want fresh salad ingredients you may need to go to another town as the grocer didn't have any when we were there. Peterborough is a small coastal town but I felt it charming and would visit again.…
We found the apartment on booking.com. As we were travelling along the great ocean road from Melbourne, we felt that we would need at least one nights stay somewhere along the way and Bay of Islands aparments sounded and looked(from the photos) ideal. Positives:Our apartment was very comfortably furnished and spacious, and very well equiped. It was also easy to gain access, having had instructions from the owner emailed to us. Here are the negatives: for the price we paid($230) we would have expected the place to be cleaner than it was. The pictures were abit misleading as we thought there might be better views( not to the back of the general store). Vacation time is 10am(pretty standard in most holiday accomodation) but the owner turned up at 8.45am with towels and linen etc as if ready to do changeover for the next guests. Its a good job we we leaving early anyway and not still in bed!!…
We stayed here overnight whilst driving the Great Ocean Road. The apartment was very clean and had just about everything we could have needed. Fabulous walks and scenery nearby. Convenience store across the road which was open till 7 which was great as we arrived quite late.
Reasonably well sized 2 bedroom apartment. Comfortable, well stocked kitchen, gas hotplate style BBQ out back under cover. No view to speak of but close to petrol station (behind it) with local shop and bottle shop on the opposite side of the road. Close to the 12 Apostles and several other good view spots – London Bridge, The Arch, the Grotto, bay of islands Good value for money at $250 for the night. Would consider staying here again
