Calm friendly environment. Great simple fresh fare, and true value for money. Queenscliff has some neat galleries and eclectic shopping. Wonderful history. Great all year round. Gateway to the bellarine peninsular, great wineries eateries and beaches, but chilly water!

Overall we were disappointed in this Hotel. The staff are lovely- thank you. The breakfast is very nice when you stay in house but it is a drink and one selected dish only. No cereal or extras. Very average I thought at the price. The stairs are steep to the first level so be mobile or request ground floor. There...

We pride ourselves on our included A La Carte breakfast, the selection is grand and all made to order, with cereal options available. We enjoyed our one night stay here. We stayed in what must be the smallest room in the hotel but it was cosy and comfortable. Staff were super friendly and the breakfast was a true highlight - delicious and very generous portions.

The room was fine and all features worked (tea/coffee and bar fridge is comunial), The property has a number of different common areas to relax in, the inner courtyard was great in the evenings as the air began to chill and is protected from any breeze. Only ate breakfast there and that was fine. Staff were wonderful, This is an...

Loved this little 1920a style town and b&b. Very quaint with great balcony off the rooms. Oysters at restaurant were the best I've ever had as well! Take ferry from Sorrento or vice versa (you can pay extra to take car on ferry as well)

We chose Athelstane on the basis of its No 1 rating among Queenscliff B&Bs and also had high expectations due to the prices. It has been very well renovated and offers many opportunities for relaxation and dining. Service is very attentive. The food was very good. But now for the disappointments, small but irritating. The room (not the cheapest) was...

Hi Bruceoz14, Thank you for your review of Athelstane House. We are glad to hear you enjoyed our dining options and the property overall. Some of our rooms have one or two magazine/coffee tables, we find this is sufficient for the majority of our guests. For guests who would like a larger table we suggest the King Room or the...

We have had several New Year stays at Athelstane and the standard only gets better. The attention to detail and maintenance is excellent and the staff are just lovely; friendly and obliging. Breakfast in the simply but elegantly furnished dining room is always good. We had the apartment for the second time and it was pleasing to see that it...

The hotel is an older style Guesthouse that has recently been refurbished with each room having its own ensuite bathroom with a spa bath. The room we stayed in was the smallest but very comfortable. A really enjoyable stay with nice hosts.

Our host was very welcoming and went out of her way to accomodate us. Our room was compact clean and very comfortable, and our all inclusive breakfast was delicious! We also had dinner at the restaurant which was tasty and well presented. Our dessert of raspberry cassata was scrumptious. Look forward to returning.
