Well I’ve learned my lesson to always read the reviews first! We booked for two nights but only stayed for one. It’s just not worth the money. - Bed was rock hard, especially difficult for someone 37 weeks pregnant. - Walls are paper thin and we could hear every footstep, piece of furniture move, even talking from the room above us, it went on till midnight and started again at 7:30am. Save your money and your sanity and don’t stay here.
Had a great stay during our road trip to Penguin island from Sydney. Wednesday helped us to checked in, she was so helpful and nice ( we drove from Peninsula hot spring that day and she welcomed us ). And also met Patty from the bar that gave us suggestion to see whale. Will come back anytime soon! And hope to meet Patty and Wednesday again.
The location is quite close to the Philips Island. The layout is quite nice and very spacious. Suitable for family stay. The room is clean. The only complaint that I have is the air conditioner in game room is not maintained and it's quite hot.
I was planning on having lunch at the restaurant. The guy I spoke to at the bar was exceptionally rude and the way he spoke to me was unacceptable. I asked where lunch would be served and he directed me to you an outdoor area with no air conditioning. The temperature on the day was around 30° - when I suggested that it would be very warm he very rudely told me I could sit outside, pointing to the benches that were located outside in the sun. It wasn’t so much what he said but his very rude attitude that was unacceptable. I left and dined elsewhere.
After arriving and hearing about a 3pm checkin (yes it is on their website against the room info but still) I figured this was not going to be a generous hotel. After that everything seemed a bit wrong or broken. As it was raining I got $20 of tokens for the games room. Out of the three machines that didn't have an out of order sign on them the other machines just swallowed the tokens and didn't work. Fair to say my kids were sad. The dryer in the room didn't work so when I went to swap our pool towels for dry ones they said they don't replenish towels. During lunch we were seated outside in the cold with rain coming in close to our table, when I asked why we couldn't sit inside they said so they could keep it set up in case it isn't busy and they can leave earlier. We got room service to our room from that point. There were lots of aggressive signs in the room, if the dishes were not put in the dishwasher on leaving there would be a $50 fee added to the bill. This is not their fault but we got swooped by magpies in the playground. It was actually just easier to spend our days out of the hotel. Only good thing was the pool and spa.…
This resort is nicely set up for a family holiday, it is apartment style accommodation. It is just across the bridge from Phillip Island, there are a number of attractions in San Remo, including the pelican feeding and the San Remo Hotel, which has an excellent bistro. The rooms are adequate, with nice hot showers. The rooms are slightly knocked about. This is a holiday resort, one should not expect luxury accommodation, for one thing the rooms are not made up daily. However, it's conveniently located and the staff are helpful. We had an attractive view over the lake and out across the Bay.
Just came back from the business trip and already planning to go back there again. Lovely location, great staff, fantastic facilities, good service and phenomenal views. Though, I give 5 stars I thought to point out that the rooms I stayed at n was very n a need of some attention, looking a bit worn out. My bed was very clean but the rest of the place needed a deep cleaning. Overall, great facilities, very tasty food, outstanding restaurant and bar service ! Reception staff could be a little bit more friendly. Love this establishment so much that we am planning to revisit with my entire family.
Very pleasant experience and lovely view. Bed was two singles pushed together but that was ok. Room and view was very nice. It was only a stop overnight and reception was very nice checking us in, Friendly, helpful with us. We will return for a visit. We wandered up to reception in the morning and he pool and faculties looked great. We didn’t stay for breakfast however that looked great as well. Always drive pass and finally stayed. Loved it.
Most people that stay here. I would imagine would be families with young children. The marquee venue has no noise insulation, so there is no going to sleep until the music stops. We called just before 10.00 pm about the noise and were lied to and told it would finish at 10.00 pm. It is now 11.00 pm. You can put up with this with your neighbours for special occasions, but not on a paid holiday. The rooms closet to the marquee should only be available for guest of the function. Also the accommodation needs a major upgrade, carpets are bare and bathroom’s leave a lot to be desired. I’m usually very tolerant, but once lied to, makes me very upset. Restaurant food very average also. When we were here last 12 or more years ago, the rooms were in their prime and the restaurant food was magnificent.…
This ‘resort’ has a lot to answer for in terms of its ‘customer service’. Wednesday from front desk is an absolute disgrace to the establishment and should have have been sacked on the spot for her disgusting and reprehensible behaviour. A trivial matter escalated into such an ugly exchange because of Wednesday’s attitude, that when I finally asked for a manager as I didn’t want to deal with her any longer, I was IGNORED. Yes, that’s right, I was told the manager couldn’t be contactable, and Wednesday then proceeded to completely IGNORE me while I stood there dumbfounded. I had 4 children and 1 adult waiting for me in the car at that point- and upon informing her- she reached a new heartless low by continuing to ignore me. I marched over to the restaurant, explained my situation to an absolute angel of a lady at the desk there (of whom I wish I had taken her name but forgot). She could see how visibly upset I was and went to to find the manager immediately. Lo and behold- the manager was indeed contactable and turned up within a few minutes. Any establishment that cared about their reputation, would at this point proceed to make amends in some way shape or form. I was told he would review the footage to verify the ferocity of the exchange, but that’s all I really got. It wasn’t even about the trivial matter this whole thing started off with- at this point it was about Wednesday’s behaviour. Wednesday’s delusional air of invincibility has left me convinced she has gotten away with this kind of behaviour before. This staff member had the ability to ruin the remainder of our stay and absolutely tarnish the Silverwater name for our family. We have been here before and returned with high hopes. It would be an absolute disgrace for any establishment to continue to employ her, or anyone like her.…
