We stopped for lunch and were very pleased with our meals The hotel offers a good range of wines by the glass. John declared his Caesar salad to be the best he's ever had. My burger was tasty and filling.

I'd always hankered to drop into the Mountain View at Whitfield on my many visits to Wangarattas jazz and Blues festival but never seemed to find the time to travel the 50 clicks out of town - it's also had a checkered past - the one time I could get there it was going through a transformation So on All...

We had lunch here on a Wednesday. We were greeted warmly shown promptly to a table and ordered a glass of Pizzini"s Landa Prosecco. We then ordered lunch, I had Pork Belly with mash and my husband a Caesar Salad. It was served quite quickly. The pork needed a little longer in the oven for my taste, the mash was...

Stayed at Mountain view with two other couples to enjoy a few days in the King Valley. The degustation dinner on Saturday night was brilliant and worth the visit alone. Dinner the next night was also enjoyed by all although the meals are huge and smaller options would be good. Rooms are basic but big bed was comfortable and it...

This land mark hotel right in the heart of the King Valley, stay overnight or visit for lunch or dinner in the bar, outside or in the fine dining area, good food service and of course Pizzini wines plus German and local beers. Visit near by wineries, Dal Zotto, Chrismont and Pizzini. Worth the trip.

The rooms are large, clean and tidy. The bistro has lovely food and is well presented. The dinning room, is amazing. We had a six course degustation menu with matching wines. The food was mouthwatering and beautifully presented with a wonderful variety of tastes. The matching wines were spot on, our waiter was knowledgeable on the wines presented and they...

We were a large group of friends, all wine-lovers, and we visited most of the King Valley wineries over a weekend. As recommended by Carmine Costantini from Osteria La Passione (in Richmond, Melbourne), we stayed two nights at the Mountain View Hotel, and as suggested by the Hotel’s chef-manager Ben Bergmann, we had a five course Degustation dinner on the...

We travelled from Melbourne to eat at the Dining Room at the Mountain View hotel in Whitfield. Being winter the public bar with roaring fire was a good respite after wine tasting in the King Valley whilst we awaited 7 pm for our Degustation Dinner. Mario and Sheruesh were excellent in explaining our courses and matching wines in the beautiful...
