We had high expectations as the result of reviews we had read and their lovely website, and unfortunately those expectations were not met. Thinking we were going to stay in an atmospheric old pub, the plain red brick building with a matching building of motel rooms was a bit of a surprise, as were the rooms. Our room was very...

Went there last week en route from Sydney to Melbourne. What a great place to stay! The town is tiny, but this accommodation is great. Rooms were very clean, fresh and comfy. Pub attached to is fantastic, great bistro, craft beers and fantastic wine list to sample the local fare. Wineries near by are good and managed a swim in...

We visited the Mountain View Hotel for a wedding anniversary celebration and had the 5 course degustation menu in the fine dining room. What an absolute amazing experience this was. Every morsel of the meal was delicious. There really are not enough superlatives to describe it. The service was impeccable and friendly. So if you are visiting the King Valley...

Stayed one night at the MVH. Simple but comfortable accommodation. Great dinner in the pub's restaurant. Whole baked trout was delicious! Friendly service. 2km from Pizzini winery which we visited and had a lovely tasting of many of their Italian style wines. Worth the trip! Whitty's cafe also nice for brekky.

Walk into the bar and you might be fooled. If your looking for Aussie pub grub you will be surprised. A schnitzel can be had but no mention of a parma, a Swiss or maybe a Spicy Jalapeno. Steaks are there, at high end big city prices. The food is superior restaurant quality. Next to the bar is the real...

Oh this was sooooo good. We, couple from Sydney, travelled to meet up with another couple, friends from from western NSW. I was trying to book something different - an unexpected experience in an unknown (to us) location. It was freezing cold when we drove in to Whitfield and I guess I was the only one out of the four...

What a fabulous experience. Ordered salty squid, wedges and garlic bread with our German beer on tap. All was faultless. I was particularly impressed with the bed of salad the squid was presented with. Yum!! Our overnight stay was a treat! From showering, to the well stocked mini bar with local wines and complimentary bouquet tea and coffee machine, I...

Enjoyed a great lunch at the Mountain View Hotel on Sunday with my family. The food was fantastic. Couldn't believe the size of the Pork Knuckle, I'm sure my brothers didn't have dinner that night. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Great outside area under the trees.

The rooms are described as fully refurbished - and they are. Originally would have been an older style motel, but the rooms are simple, well furnished, and inexpensive. Great if you're dining at the restaurant.

We stopped for lunch and were very pleased with our meals The hotel offers a good range of wines by the glass. John declared his Caesar salad to be the best he's ever had. My burger was tasty and filling.
