My wife and I stayed a couple nights recently at Cool Water Acres, and it definitely won't be our last. The cabin is homey and historic. So much privacy and tranquility. We mostly just hung out on the front porch and it was heavenly. But this would also be a great base camp for exploring the Hill Country. We are... More

We stayed last year in August for a weekend. Instant love affair. No other place can you have this charming cabin and a farm and a 7 acre lake all to yourselves. Keep it a secret. The hosts are amazing and you really have this incredible getaway all to your self. We have booked August again and are looking forward... More

Visiting Bandera for the first time and absolutely loving our visit! Rustic accommodations on Indian Creek offer the full country experience for city folk. My boys have never really been exposed to chickens and horses like this! Perfect weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Pros: Fresh Eggs, water activities, rustic accommodations, peace and quiet, delightful... More

A great escape from the city. Friendly animals (horses, chicken, a donkey, a cat, a dog), fresh eggs, good fishing, awesome food in town, very comfortable place. Only few hours from Houston. Highly recommended.

What a delight! A gorgeous setting, the only cabin there so we had the run of the place. Horses, chickens, donkey, dogs and a cat to visit. A pretty lake for fishing or swimming, water slide, paddle boat, kayaks, a bass boat, hiking and only 6 miles from Bandera. Be sure to take the drive to Tarpley and Vanderpool. So... More

My husband & I had never been to the hill country of Texas before our visit in April. I just happened to come across their website and it sounded interesting, so we booked. It was all we were expecting and more! We are animal lovers, so the resident horses, donkey, chickens, dogs and cats were a welcome sight. We could... More

We went for our 27th anniversary and were looking for a hideaway. We hit gold. From the outside, the cabin is VERY rustic but that's what we love. On the inside, it had all of the amenities one could ask for. Fresh eggs in the frig for breakfast each morning along with fruit and other goodies. Since we were on... More

My husband and I stayed at Cool Water Acres in October of this year. The little house is absolutely charming; even more than the website photos convey. It's very old with original beams, fireplace and tin roof. It feels so cozy, but had absolutely all the modern conveniences we needed -- a big comfortable bed, full kitchen, living room with... Spent 5 days here with wife and 8 yo son. Everyone had a great time and there is so much to do. My son loved helping to feed the horses, collect chicken eggs and was put in charge of locking up the chickens every night and releasing them in the morning. A large herd of Axis deer roams the pasture... More

Cool Water Acres was too good to miss! When in Texas, you got to get here or else you have missed a lot in life! This incredible hotel has the best service and friendly staff who really makes you feel at home! And the good food makes it more remarkable. Cool Water Acres is the best in TX.
