I just returned from a week at Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. This was my third stay! I was there for a week. In the mornings, I took the horsemanship class with Dianne, the owner and an expert horsewoman. These were exceptional! The skills I learned will not be forgotten. In the afternoons, it was off to the trails in the...

My husband and I came to HCEL for the mountain biking both on the property and in the state park which is contiguous to the Lodge's property (several miles of good trails in the park with some carry sections - trail markings are initially tough to follow - be prepared to get lost ). Anyway, we not only got in...

My wife and I had an excellent time riding four times in 3 days! Dianne, a patient and passionate riding instructor, taught we neophytes a little horsemanship which we will take back home to Canada with us along with wonderful memories of our cozy cabin with the amazing fireplace, the Ranch, Bandera, Lost Maples Winery, Texas Hill Country...and Snip the...

We are on a ten week trip through USA and went here first in December 2016. We liked it so much, that we decided to go back again, and did so in January 2017. This place is just wonderful! Beautiful, happy horses, peaceful surroundings, cosy private cabin with porch (perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea, watching the horses grazing close...

I took my seven-year-old daughter for a week-long stay at Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. We absolutely loved it! The accommodations were nicely arranged, very clean, and well-provisioned. Even though it rained lightly on most days of the trip, we were able to plan the right times for both the riding and a variety of indoor activities. Dianne and her staff...

Hill Country Equestrian wasn't just a great getaway but an in depth learning experience. My wife and I wanted to come home feeling we'd learned to ride a horse "properly" so that we could be confident in future trail rides. Dianne has a passion for riding and passes that along to those who are serious about learning. Makayla, her assistant,...

Always a great pleasure to visit and stay at the lodge. Been going for 5 years now and have no plans to stop. Dianne and Peter run an excellent facility in the middle of a remote natural corner of the Hill Country. Love our every visit!

Beautiful ranch in the magnificent part of the Hill Country! Our family (2 adults & 2 kids) spent 1 week on the ranch and enjoyed every moment of the stay. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well decorated. The ranch management and staff were attentive and very supportive. The horses were just great - beautiful, friendly and well behaving. The...

Stunningly beautiful sunsets, quiet surroundings, stargazing to the sound of coyotes, sitting by our small fire, or having tea on the porch, watching the horses grazing free on the grounds... This place is something out of the ordinary... We searched hard to find a place to go horseback riding, preferably one where we could stay overnight. There was none. They...

In December, I visited HCEL for the second time. This trip was strictly getting away and relaxing for my daughter and me. Our cabin was perfect down to the tiniest detail -- you couldn't ask for a lovelier, more comfortable accommodation. The setting is gorgeous -- a hill country ranch that abuts a protected forest that's pristine and untouched by...
