I had the pleasure of spending the weekend at Hill Country Equestrian Lodge and I was utterly impressed by the cozy cabins, the beautiful ranch and all the friendly animals (horses, dogs, etc.) walking around, and not the least the staff that took care of us. All in all, a very memorable weekend!

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at Hill Country Equestrian Lodge over the New Year holiday. We stayed for two nights in a suite which was the perfect size for us and our dog, Harley. The kitchen was well-stocked with tasty breakfast foods, and I really appreciated the lack of internet/cell service in our suite - it provided...

You are so welcome for everything. It was our pleasure getting to know Harley! Such a cutie and so well-behaved! I'm glad you appreciated the quiet and privacy provided by our intentional lack of electronics in your room. However, if any of our guests are "jonesing" to be more connected, we do provide free wi-fi at our office, and a...

HCEL provides the best kind of ranch vacation for people who really ride. The horses were top notch. We loved seeing the Hill Country from horseback in the adjoining nature preserve and I enjoyed the luxury of a private lesson to brush up on my equitation. We enjoyed having our own cozy cabin and some time alone for meals (after...

Thank you for choosing to spend your "post-Christmas" time with us. We love providing quiet and privacy for people when they need it. If someone does not want to cook or go to Bandera for meals, we can provide them here at our 120 year old ranch house. (We offer options for meals.) And I agree, our horses are amazing....

We usually come back every year for Thanksgiving, but this year we felt like spoiling ourselves so we came back for Christmas as well. HCEL is a perfect place to get away, to relax, and to be with your family in the nature. This time we stayed at the Lindig cabin, which in reality is a royal suite, very spacious...

Thank you again, Daniel! We love your family's visits! Seeing Rebecca take her first rides on Molly and Impy, (including posting perfectly with her tiny little legs!), has been an extraordinary experience! And meeting your parents this trip was equally wonderful. Take care, and we wish you and your family all the best!

We went early November and the weather left much to be desired, but we had a great time. Went for the sorting and penning clinic. I'd never done that before and it was a blast. The lodging was clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. We had dinners at the house with Dianne and everything was very tasty. I'd...

Oddly enough, all of our rain in November came on the weekends, when our ranch was busy and when we had special events scheduled! (The weekdays, when we weren't as busy, were beautiful!) However, the Cattle Sorting and Penning Clinic came off beautifully, since we have a covered round pen to sort in, and we did have sun for our...

We arrived in terrible weather that made a ride impossible, and hostess Diane generously upgraded us to a cabin with a fireplace to make the best of the weather. The accommodations are really first class and, with better weather the next day, Diane gave us a full day of riding with well-trained horses and delightful and knowledgeable commentary on local...

Texas Hill Country at it's best! Horses, wildlife , scenic views, snug cabins, fireplaces, and terrific hosts - and NO electronics! And easy access to shopping of Kerrville or Fredericksburg. Bring your own trail riding horses or take advantage of riding instruction for beginners , children or just "back in the saddle" from expert horsewoman Dianne. Thanksgiving dinner is amazing...

We just returned from our 4th or 5th trip to Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. This place is simply paradise! The lodging is very comfortable and the people are so nice and inviting. Staff was fantastic. Clean cabin, comfortable, and cozy. No phones, tv, or internet, just sit back and enjoy the quiet country atmosphere. We made breakfast every day, prepared a few meals in our cabin, and went to town for a few dinners to sample the local offerings. Had a fire in the wonderful limestone fireplace every night. We brought and...

Thank you for your review! Just so folks know, there is a dishwasher in each cabin, and we can provide additional maid service if requested. There can be bugs, but we have very few, and almost never mosquitoes. Thank you again!

We were looking for a quiet, country getaway where we could hike and horseback ride. HCEL was perfect. We loved the homey feel of the cottage and feeling of seclusion, with modern conveniences and comforts. The horses were beautiful and there was a 5000 acre natural area to hike and ride in.
