This beautiful home is perfectly located to retreat back to after a day of shopping. The gracious hosts will make you feel righ at home. A delicious breakfast and coffee to get your day started. Reasonably priced.

My mom and I brought my children (ages 4 and 7) here for their spring break. Linda and Stan are excellent hosts and made us feel so welcome. They showed us all around and answered all of our farm questions. They were so patient and kind to my kids- who LOVED gathering eggs with Linda each evening before bed time....

I had an excellent stay. The farm house is lovely and in a beautiful setting. The owners were very friendly and breakfast was excellent both days. Loved being greeted by the farm dogs. I will go back again. Highly recommended.

Our family stayed one night at the Prairie Wind Farm B&B in the Smokehouse. It was a wonderful respite from city life. The welcoming committee that followed our car in to the farm consisted of two very friendly dogs, Maddy and Lincoln, who immediately became out 10 year old's buddies for the visit. The owners, Linda and Stan, are wonderful...

I am very pleased with this B&B. Linda and Stan treated us like family. You can be as involved or uninvolved with the farming as you want. Linda and Stan are a wealth of knowledge. Know that this is a working farm not a tourist attraction. So if you want to experience real farm life or relax in the country...

As this was our first experience staying at a B&B, my husband and I half expected our hostess to be a Miss Havisham type, fussily dusting knick knacks and fluffing pillows. WRONG!! We were both quite impressed with the warmth and AUTHENTICITY of our hosts, Linda and Stan. It felt just like staying at your mom's house-but with more privacy...

We enjoyed getting to know Gini and her husband. We will work on correcting the water pressure in the shower before their next visit.

We are a family of four, and stayed at Prairie Wind for a weekend. We stayed in the smokehouse, which suited our needs perfectly. Our school-age kids absolutely loved the cozy beds, feeding the bunnies and playing with the sweet resident dogs, Maddie and Lincoln. Linda and Stan were friendly and had great ideas for our day activities. Carmine is...

We spent a week at Prairie Wind Farm, and it was a very enjoyable stay. Our young children enjoyed looking at the cattle, donkeys, rabbits, dogs, a cat, and vegetable garden. The surrounding area is great as well. The town of Round Top has plenty to do (especially towards the weekends), the Blue Bell ice cream factory is a pretty...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our Farmhouse was built in 1921, and it retains much of the original materials and charm. We love it, and we love sharing it with others. Since we had three bedrooms upstairs that were going unused, we thought we'd start a bed and breakfast. That way, we could share the farm and the area that we love with people other than our family. Getting to know the wonderful people who are our guests has made it one of our favorite projects! In 2004 we decided to convert the old smokehouse into a guesthouse. The plan was to use the existing three rooms as a sitting room and two bedrooms and to add on two bathrooms. In the process, we wanted to preserve as much of the character of the original building as possible. We are very pleased with the results. The original wood walls in the sitting room and bathrooms give a rustic feel, while the decor adds a bit of sophistication. Because of the intimate nature of the accommodations, The Smokehouse is only rented as a unit. ... more   less

“Rooms upstairs all have sloped attic ceilings. If you are especially tall you might be more comfortable in the Smoke House.”
