As Morgane said, alternatively you can fly to Bucarest and there is a comfortable overnight train to Baia Mare, then catch a cab or ask the village hotel to organize a pick up, if you stay some days they can normally do it.

you will need a car to get to the village hotel. You can rent one, or hire a driver. I hired a driver so I could sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way. I would recommend the driver I used if you want to message... More
