A business colleague recommended the Sam Houston Hilton as an alternative to the over-priced majors. The hotel and restaurant exceeded my expectations for a downtown hotel. Clean room, well appointed, and good food (although small portion for breakfast)

We have stayed at The Sam Houston several times when we go over to Houston for baseball. The Sam is in a great location - easy to walk to the games, plus restaurants close by. The beds are so comfortable that I never have a hard time getting to sleep. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Valet parking is prompt....

Overall a great staff. On site, staff were very accommodating, restaurant and bar have great staff and selection. Room was comfortable. Overall a boutique feel to the property. Only thing lacking is proper gym facility- If you are a diamond member they will provide you with a pass to local YMCA, 1 mile away. Either a quick run of a...

The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and extremely nice. The breakfast is fantastic, it's a little pricey but worth it. Room service was awesome and very fast. From the valet to the concierge to the breakfast wait staff everyone was super cool and couldn't be nicer.

I can't say enough about the staff at the Sam's Houston Curio Hotel. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. When I first checked in Jorge was very polite and courteous. He greeted me by last name and thanked me for being a loyalty Hilton member. I was also assisted by Cumi who ensured that my stay and accommodations at the...

This was my worst hotel experience. I did not sleep st all the first night, and barely slept the second night. The noise was generated by a wedding inside the hotel. There is no parking so mandatory valet that is pricey. The shuttle has an extremely small radius and no early morning hours. There is a large homeless population sleeping...

Jorge at the front desk went above and beyond during our stay for our nephews wedding. The hotel was beautiful and smelled really nice - fresh and clean and very well decorated. The Pearl restaurant was excellent - steak was better than Ruth's Chris and the service was amazing. Rooms were first class and very comfortable.

I'd come stay at The Sam again in the future. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. The location was perfect for walking to bars and restaurants. Jorge F. at the front desk and Abdul at the valet were both fantastic.

My husband and I had an amazing stay at this hotel. All of the staff members were courteous and helpful. Jorge at the front desk was so welcoming, and even sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries because my hubby mentioned we were celebrating my birthday. Kris at the bar gave us great recommendations for places to...

Extremely poor housekeeping (There was still hair in the shower), Poor front desk attitude (Blamed me for not telling them... rather than taking ownership and apologizing). I would never stay there again.
