So the floors are sloped and the upstair balcony is in serious despair, other than that, it was a treat to visit such an old hotel! The shower was hot and the a.c. worked well, linens were clean, a tree in the garden smelled like wet paint? So strange. Plantation breakfast was tasty, but meager. Check it out, it's like...

My husband and I had an overnight stay at the hotel. The night clerk was very friendly. Our room, Hayes room, was beautiful. Breakfast at the Excelsior was awesome: fruit, orange muffins, biscuits, eggs, ham and grits. The courtyard was a nice, relaxing retreat. I great place to relax and get away from it all.

My visit to Jefferson was entirely too short! I cannot wait to return for more excellent hospitality at the fabulous Excelsior House and to check out the antique shops, ghost tour and local history. I stayed in the beautiful and comfortable Torrans Room with its gorgeous sleigh bed. What fun it was to sit on the front porch and visit...

Wonderful plantation breakfast...special treat. Joined my brother to spend the day while he attended a seminar. The hotel is staffed by both hired employees and volunteers from The Garden Club. They were kind enough to allow me to get in the room as early as possible so I would have a place to be while he was in the meeting....

Jefferson is a charming, historic little town and The Excelsior Hotel was a very nice choice for our stay regarding comfort, accessibility, dining (the Plantation Breakfast is pretty good and free with your stay), and enjoyable. The staff are very professional and very enjoyable. The Grant Room was the only room with 2 beds and was very spacious. The hotel...

The stay at the Excelsior Hotel was quaint, charming and history filled. The staff was very friendly, courteous and accommodating. The room was clean, tidy and very comfy. The antique furnishings in the rooms are a welcome unique feature. Attended a special event luncheon in the formal dining room, the food and staff were wonderful. A gem in Jefferson!.

We love to visit Jefferson as often as possible and we usually stay here if possible. The bed this time wasn't very comfortable and that's really the only negative. We had stayed here on multiple occasions and knew it was old fashioned etc and that's the vibe we were going for. You really feel like you have stepped back in...

Unless you enjoy staying in certain hotels just for their age and history, I'd suggest staying elsewhere when visiting Jefferson. Our (wife and I) stay was disappointing, not due to anything major, just an accumulation of small disappointments. On the day of checkout I asked if we could extend our checkout time from 11:00 a..m. to 12:00 noon to help...

This is our 2nd time to stay at the Excelsior. Each time has been a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Plantation Breakfast is a must. You will not find a more elegant breakfast for the price. We would visit more often, but we live in Canyon Lake, TX -- a bit of a drive! The rooms...

I stay at the Excelsior every chance I get. It's a grand, historic hotel with antique furniture, a lovely courtyard, great service, and an elegant Plantation breakfast, in easy walking distance of all major attractions.
