We stayed at The Resurgence for 3 nights about half way through our 4 week trip to New Zealand and it was a really relaxing treat. We loved the concept of included drinks with other guests and the hosts on the balcony before dinner and eating with the other guests at big communal tables. We met very interesting and sociable...

We enjoyed all aspects of this small lodge. The Villa we received was nice and comfortable. Service was warm and kind. The surrounding area is beautiful and tranquil. Food, prepared by the lodge manager was very good, They have pre dinner drinks and we got to meet very interesting people from around the globe. Staff was very good at putting...

We have mixed feelings about our stay at The Resurgence for three nights. Yes, it is a wonderful location at the end of a small road looking down on the rainforest valley. The staff and owners were very helpful, hospitable and informative about the area and wildlife. It was good to feel, for a short while, at one with nature...

As the chef & owner, it was a bad way to start my day reading this review. We are a small team that has been delivering great table d'hote dining experiences for 13 years, this year alone we have cooked 1133 dinners and this was one of the rare criticisms but they all still hurt. I think the menu in...

The rooms are definitely nice and well appointed and the location is good. However the bush is "regenerating" not original and the smaller bush chalet's outside seating areas (at least in our case) face onto the Chalet's car parking gravel area. Overall whilst the place is nice, we did not feel the steep price is justified.

We normally do not take one-night stays at the Lodge because much of the experience is in spending time exploring our pool & spa, walking our 5km's of bush tracks in the 50 acres which really requires at least a 2 night stay. For practical reasons, parking is adjacent to the bush suites but the view on the other 2...

Stayed one night as part of Great Taste cycling trip. Was a long way off the track and an extremely steep hill at the end but was well worth th extra effort. Well appointed rooms, great pool, spa , extremely accommodating hosts. Nothing was too much for them. Good food. Well worth s visit

We stayed in a chalet which was large and very well equipped. The attention to detail is amazing and everything you could want is provided. The location is fabulous and easy to reach great walks and beaches . I enjoyed the swimming pool - very refreshing on a hot day

The Resurgence is a few kilometres down a dirt road in the beautiful Riwaka Valley. In a lovely bush setting, hosts Peter and Clare set about spoiling you with delicious food, fine wines and comfortable lodgings. We had a well appointed room in the main lodge with a small balcony but it was nicer sitting on the main verandah with...

This was a real hideaway in the forest with fascinating walks, deep pools and rivers to paddle or swim in. We were surrounded by the sights and sounds of the forest, coming face to face with the thieving Kea bird! Fabulous facilities with secluded swimming pool and private balconies, seating areas. Perfect getaway location with sheep and deer roaming in...

We enjoyed 2 nights in one of the chalets. The chalet was very spacious (30m2) with a well-equiped small kitchen area + a private deck with a BBQ/grill (+ table and chairs of course). The view of the valley from our chalet was bautiful. The hosts - Clare and Peter are great hosts. They make you feel very welcome and...

The lodges are within a huge forest valley and it is just a marvelous place. I could have gazed for hours at the surrounding mountains, the forest and all the wildlife. Peter and Clara are two wonderful people and they can book you into anything at almost anytime. And I can't complain about the food either. Extremely delicious and for...
