Excellent hotel with a wonderful steak house and lounge. Great old west feel along with all the comforts. Fantastic food and the White Buffalo lounge is a great place to relax. Very remote location makes for a very relaxing atmosphere.

Stayed at this beautiful and quaint hotel for one night. We were not dissapointed! Staff was friendly, room was clean. The hotel has a lot of open areas where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine. There is no staff service but my husband went to the bar and brought drinks for us to enjoy. Very peaceful place...

We booked a room here for one night on the way to Big Bend National Park. The hotel is historic, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. We went to the bar for a drink, met a fascinating bartender and several very interesting guests. We ordered appetizers at the bar as the dinner menu looked to...

I have been here before and after reading some of the more positive reviews, I thought I would give it another try. In all honesty, I am not impressed. The food here is very expensive, especially for the quantity and quality received. The staff are mostly snobs with a synthetic smile (because it helps bring a better tip). It is...

What an amazing hotel! Just wished we’d got an earlier start to our day so we could have spent more time here. Apparently the restaurant is wonderful, but we arrived just before it was closing at 9 pm. Luckily the bar was still open! Our room wasn’t huge, but it had 2 queen beds, a desk, separate sink and toilet/shower...

We didn't spend much time at the hotel as we were at big bend a lot but the hotel was beautiful. We were in one of the individual bungalows. The bar next door was equally nice. The food and drinks were good. The decor was rustic but comfortable.

We stayed one night and will be back. It combines cowhide and elegance, chandeliers and rustic charm. Love the way that the outdoor courtyards are like living rooms. Unique history. Gorgeous gardens -- truly amazing landscaping everywhere. PLUS, as if luxurious rooms, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, great art, and creature comforts weren't enough, the place has an unforgettable gourmet restaurant. Our...

Beautiful architecture and terrific staff. Ake this hotel great. The grounds are well maintained and even in the rain, was a pleasure to be at. We stayed in a casita where the "downhome feel" took to kitch-- cow's head on the wall, uncomfortable leather Ra check Stu,e furniture. The rooms were beautiful, nonetheless and beds super comfortable. The restaurant--12 Guage--...

Large rooms. Walk in showers. "Western"designed rooms. Choice of original hotel or the newer constructed stand alone individual structures. Nice secluded pool area. Also, plenty of excellent designed rocking chairs. Our room was not ready at 3 o'clock time. Was told to return in 30 minutes, but still not ready then. Room was ready at 4. Convenient parking. Price for...

We came to stay for a night & were very impressed with everything about The Gage! The grounds are very well-maintained, loved all of the plants and trees! The pool area is stunning! Very relaxing experience for us! We stayed in one of the courtyard rooms, which are lovely. The only possible complaint is that the room was very dark,...
