As people that lived through the sixties told me, if you remember you weren't really there! In all seriousness a great experience in an un-incorporated town. Good food, good cocktails and a couple of jolly locals thrown in. If you are passing through West Texas a must. No TV in rooms, flaky wifi - rustic luxury!

A friend and I took a trip in July through old haunts of West Texas; the Gage Hotel was a wonderful place to spend the evening complete with an afternoon of the annual music festival, a great dinner at the restaurant, and delicious wine on the patio with a darling ginger kitten. Everyone was genuinely helpful; the hotel is a...

We have had the good fortune of staying here twice, and we will go back as soon as we can. Our rooms were in the Los Portales area and this time the renovations were complete, so no scaffolding or construction workers around. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The courtyard area is so relaxing and inviting. A few guest were enjoying...

Stayed for one night on a cross-US bike trip and thought this was a lovely oasis in the middle of nowhere. I was I'm a room in the main building and loved the lack of a TV and the authentic and tasteful furnishing. The only draw back was the lack of a curtain in one alcove (although I stacked the...

The Gage Hotel in Marathon, Texas is a fantastic destination choice. We highly recommend staying in one of the Casitas. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is spectacular and the restaurant is award winning. The outdoor patio features full bar service, a great, relaxed dining menu, and live music. The staff is extremely helpful and they have an excellent brochure...

We stayed at Gage, one of the Los Portales rooms, just this past week. While we were there, we saw Sam Smith and his entourage at the pool. We kept to ourselves and didn't wish to disturb his relaxation time, but we were all quite excited inwardly. The resort has a very laid back vibe, and we wanted to maintain...

The rooms at the Gage are really spacious and comfortable, opening out to a very cool courtyard area. The pool is also great - very relaxed vibe and steps away from your room (wherever you are staying). The staff is incredibly courteous and friendly - responded to requests & arrived at our room w/in just a few minutes (great service)....

Wow! Jaw dropped, eyes wide... 'The Gage' is divine. The pool crystal clear, huge pool towels- a magical escape from reality. Our room in the courtyard was modern day convenience meets the old west. Decorated with serious style and with the customer in mind. The spa where I chose an anti ageing facial, was given by the lovely, knowledgeable 'Hilly'-...

Great little hotel. We didn't stay in the main hotel, but opted for Celaya House instead. What a perfect little getaway. An isolated small house which sleeps four. Just a few steps from all the main hotel facilities, but without having to endure any neighbours. Loved it. You still get a maid service as well. This place is 'rustic' -...

If you go to the Gage even just to pass by, then you'll know how special it is. It is a little slice of heaven. Aside from being a green oasis in the desert, it just has a calming serene ambiance. You would not guess that a hotel in this area would have the quality restaurant onsite that it does....
