We stayed one night at the Gage on our way out to Cibolo Creek Ranch, and then returned for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Both stays were flawless. I've gotten to be sort of a hotel snob, and I generally prefer nice, new and clean. The Gage is, as other have noted, old and renovated. In addition to the main...

Not only was the room clean, comfortable, and lovely but they also had fires in the courtyard at night to socialize with the other guests. The staff was all friendly and helpful. There are no tv in the room, but they have wifi and a tv room (where my husband watched the Thanksgiving Cowboy's game with other guests). So relaxing!

The Gage Hotel is unique, beautiful, delightful. The architecture and interior design are outstanding. We also enjoyed the food at V6 and the White Buffalo. Here are a couple of tips: don't choose it as a convenient location to pop over to Big Bend National Park every day. It is a 2 hour drive one way. Don't go if you...

The Gage Hotel profits from its position situated on one of the two gateway accesses to the Big Bend National Park. Although the courtyard bedrooms are cute my wife and I felt they did not offer value for money. Shortage of power points, so using laptop not easy. The restaurant prices were excessive, front desk service poor. In a word...

We spent 2 nights here while touring Big Bend during the day. The hotel itself is gorgeous - unique and situational decor. We had a room off the courtyard which was lovely - spacious and clean. We used the pool which was well maintained. It is about an hour drive to the park which we found ok as www ere...

The hotel is old and renovated. The restaurant is superb. It is close to Big Bend. It is a relaxing site. No TV in rooms to add to the natural setting. It is quiet, rural, yet elegant. I would stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at the Gauge Hotel in Marathon, Texas last week for three days. Each day we drove into Big Bend National Park, and contiguous areas, for hiking and birding. The hotel is approximately 70 miles from the Panther Junction park headquarters. So, the drive is approximately one hour or so. The hotel has two rows of...

Such a great mix of people! But lets start with my issues-we were in the main house- rooms are small for the price. Bathroom is a hazard! Tile is slippery, no tub, no grab bar, without a door, water goes into the bathroom which then gets slippery. Bed next to the door. But somehow I loved this place- the vibe...

The hotel was neat and restaurant was excellent. But it's in Marathon and it can only be so good for in the middle of nowhere. Everything was very clean and staff was excellent. Again the hotel restaurant was 5 star.

Excellent hotel with a wonderful steak house and lounge. Great old west feel along with all the comforts. Fantastic food and the White Buffalo lounge is a great place to relax. Very remote location makes for a very relaxing atmosphere.
