This is an old hotel. So if you go in NOT expecting a standard Marriott, you might be pleasantly surprised. Our room, on the 3d floor, was small, somewhat dark, with 2 double beds [we were told they were queens...don't think so]. There was no room phone to call the front desk [had to use our cells] and few electrical...

They´re not fooling anyone. They advertise this as a 3 stars hotel, and we got a plain 3 stars hotel. It´s my fault that I grew higher expectations. Probably because it was #1 in Trip Advisor, or because the building is considered a local landmark. Anyway, my high hopes were lowered when we found the pool and courtyard were under...

If you are accustomed to staying at a Renaissance, do not stay here. Be careful of people describing it as "historic", "classic" or "charming". Yes, the building is cool, old Texas style. HOWEVER, the place is a dump. The rooms are so dark, I couldn't do anything. The carpet has been here since 1970s and the furniture don't look any...

This was my 3rd visit to this classic hotel, so that should tell you something. This hotel is very well maintained for it's age. It still has elegance and style of the early 1900's. The staff has always been friendly and professional and with the hot Texas summer the covered parking is a huge plus.

I debated posting this but I just now seeing had an interaction at the front desk that's made up my mind. First of all this place is very very old and at one point was probably a very nice old Spanish style hotel. There's a lot of construction going on in the center courtyard which makes it hard to tell...

Casa De Palmas has been a Marriott property for 16 years and is beginning major renovations on the hotel. The hotel is a true beauty right now, but upgrades to rooms and pool area. Very quaint with balcony rooms overlooking interior courtyard pool. The employees show the pride in this hotel and we were warmly greeted by Elsa Lira, the...

Very interesting hotel, old school. It's quaint and quiet. Gracious South Texas hotel complete with historical markers, circular stairs in lobby and genteel staff. Brick wall in room and wood beam ceiling really lends a 70s feel and it's quite comfy. Great pool in the central courtyard, nice lobby bar. Small bath but large room with small window, fridge, coffee...

This is the place you want to stay if you're traveling for business. They offer a hotel shuttle to and from the airport that runs on the hour and half hour. Complimentary breakfast for Marriott Members. Restaurant on site. Walking distance to other restaurant and bars.

The hotel was spotless and the staff was extremely professional and friendly. When walking through the hotel there was a since of calmness and peacefulness. The large fountain in the courtyard was very relaxing to listen from our balcony.

I Love this hotel to stay in for business! It has a friendly staff, a gorgeous outside courtyard in the front, and a great restaurant across the street. I've only been here on business and left before the breakfast was offered. They were actually filming on the restaurant across the street when I was there last time. I will always...
