We passed by the place because we arrived at Flores very late and allready had reservations in Tikal. The host, Libby, was very helpful and kind and helped us getting a shuttle at an adequate price even though at that time of day it would otherwise have been very hard even finding someone willing to go to Tikal. Even though...

Hostel Yaxha was great. We loved our stay here. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food was exceptionally good! My boyfriend loved the traditional Mayan dishes. I loved the chicken stirfry (always nice to have a heap of veggies while traveling for an extended period). Lastly, the location was great. Couldn't have...

The hostel is situated in the heart of Flores on the island. The rooms are clean, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff was super helpful with making reservations to Tikal and securely storing our luggage beyond check-out time while we were in Tikal. The food at Yaxha Coffee is excellent - not only according to our own experience,...

The hostel is set into a very highly recommended Cafe (Cafe Yaxha) which was featured in my guidebook for Central America. The decoration of the place is pretty special and worth a visit itself. The food there is simply sensational and for a veggie stir fry - my favourite of the trip - it was 45 quetzales which is very...

We had a wonderful stay at Hostel Yaxha. My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights in one of the 4 bed dorms, while visiting the Mayan sites Tikal and Yaxha. The staff were extremely helpful, booking all our tours and our bus and ferry to Caye Caulker. The room was clean and the food in the restaurant was...

Nice place, fast internet and friendly service, But had bed bugs, woke up itchy and my girlfriend woke up with one on crawling on her. Can happen anywhere but is a hard thing to get rid of. And the fact all the rooms are on one floor means that they will need to shut down the hostel to effectively fumigate...

Hola Nate , Sorry to hear about your experience at the hostel. I’d just like to let you know that we checked the room and there didn’t seem to be any sign of beds bugs at all. But to be on the safe side we fumigated and tossed out the mattresses and replaced them with brand new ones. Once again...

First up a something to be aware of when booking trips in Flores. Please also note this is in no way connected with Hostel Yaxha. Avoid Onca travel (agents name is Ronald) as we are (now!) aware of a scam on onward travel. He 'books a shuttle with a second agency' but doesn't actually follow through with the booking. Communicates...

Have a drink during happy hour and try traditional Mayan dishes from one of the most affordable places to eat in Flores. At Hostel Yaxha we also provide access to our specialty tours of Mayan sites in the area, laundry service and free WiFi.
