We would 100% recommend this as a place to stay whilst in Guatemala. It is located just out of Flores across the lake. Very peaceful ambience, it is surrounded by trees and you wake up to hummingbirds outside your room every morning. You can swim or kayak in the most wonderful lake. The food is so good and personally catered... More

My wife and I stayed here while visiting Tikal. We were here only one night but we had a great experience. Lorena and Arturo were wonderful hosts. It was a very nice and private cottage for us to spend the evening as a couple. Lorena's cooking was some of the best that I had the entire time I was in... More

Amazing views, beautiful rooms and delicious food! You can take a dip in the lake at any time. We really didn't want to leave! Lorena and Arturo are wonderful hosts and know all about Peten. If you are visiting Tikal, or any of Peten's Mayan ruins, stay here! Nitun is on a private reserve near Flores city, get there by... More

Definitely the best place to stay in Petén when visiting the local destinations. Rooms are very comfy and spacious. The food, which happen to be amazing, is catered upon guest preferences. Lorena the owner, the staff and everyone involved in the hotel are super friendly and kind. I can´t stress enough about how nice and peaceful Nitun is.

Nitun is a lodge like no other and we have been to a few! Great homely hospitality, great mix with the jungle nature, great food yet local food and cuisine, surrounded by great birds (colibris...) and pets, also a nice touch of civilization although not too much to rest and mingle with guests. To a certain extent, Nitun has quite... More

Upon entering the game premises I felt as though I had always known the proprietors. I can't explain what it is -- perhaps it's the chef who caters the meals to my preferences or the welcoming, spotless accommodations. Lounging in he dining area when the downpour hits is one of the most peaceful memories I have. I am definitely returning!

We had the privilege of meeting Lorena (the owner) and Arturo and eating dinner at Ni'tun for two nights while we stayed at the adjacent property of Bolontiku resort. At the time we booked at Bolontiku, we were unaware of Ni'tun and very much regret that we did not stay at this property instead. We were lucky to stumble upon... More

We had a tremendous stay at N'tun. From the welcome by Lorena and her great vegetarian meals to the tours she arranged including one by Bernie, we had a great time. Swimming in the lake was fantastic and it is just a boat ride across the lake to Flores. The rooms were good and in all a unique place to... More

How fortunate we were to discover this fantastic place! Upon our arrival, my husband and I were cheerfully greeted by the owner Lorena, and escorted to our quarters by Arturo who was so helpful and accommodating throughout our 4-night stay at Nitun. The Hummingbird Suite was just what we had hoped for . . . close contact with the outdoors... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ni'tun is a small Guatemalan boutique lodge located within our own private reserve on the shores of beautiful Lake Peten Itza. We offer personal service, friendly staff, knowledgeable guides, drivers and tour operators. Kayaking is a must. We pride ourselves as being passionate about our cuisine. Local ingredients are used in our fusion meals. All itineraries are tailored and many destinations in the area can be visited. It is a peaceful spot to relax and be immersed in nature. Favorite amongst guests is chatting over dinner with other travelers and us, the owners. We are far away and near enough Flores island and we operate our tours and expeditions privately to the main sites, both for one-day tours as for longer camping expeditions throughout Peten, Belize, Honduras and Mexico. Collective tours to Tikal also available. Our main aim is to share our culture with travelers and to support sustainable activities that involve local communites as well as protected areas. Through low impact eco tourism, we are able to support our conservation projects. ... more   less
