The appartment was very clean and the kitchen had all the equipment needed. A little bit dark as they were on the ground floor with no terrace. The hotel is very well situated, only 5 mins walk to the beach and shops. The pool area is very clean and pleasant but no kid's pool.
Great resort friendly and helpful staff. The entertainment guy was great with everyone and the kids really got involved Restaurant could be so much better open for 12 hours lunchtime till midnight, but hardly anyone uses it, they could do with a poolside service and a kids menu
We stayed here from 4thJuly 2022 for 11 days and found everyone so helpful. Reception staff could do no more for you and always in a friendly manner. We had a couple of issues with the apartment and someone always came in a short time to solve the problem. The cleaners did a fantastic job and twice even washed a few dishes we had left. We have been Diamond members since 1996 and have always had a lovely Holiday with no issues and always met friendly staff. We now look forward to our next Holiday at Sunset Bay Resort in Tenerife in October
I have stayed in many Diamond resorts over the past twenty plus years and this is easily the worst, grubby uncleaned rooms, grounds infested with cockroaches and ants do yourself a favour and book Sahara Sunset or Los Amigos beach club which are both close by you will regret staying here, our family will not be back!
I wish I had listened to the bad reviews and stayed somewhere else! I arrived in reception to Sergio who told me we were in a ground floor apartment/Cave with no balcony and there were no other apartments available but I didn’t realise how bad the apartment/Cave was going to be, it was not clean infested with ants and had blood splattered up the bathroom walls (check photo of bathroom wall) when I returned to reception to ask to be moved I was told there was no other apartments and they had fixed all the issues, I asked for the General Managers email address and Sergio refused to give it to me a woman appeared from a back office claiming to be a manager and while I checked my phone (looking for another hotel) she yelled in my face “look at me when I am talking to you!” I cannot believe this happened and immediately asked what had happened to the Diamond Resort standards? the woman manager replied “We are no longer a Diamond Resort so don’t need to meet their standards!” I agreed that that was definitely the case and if I had known they were no longer a Diamond Resort Hotel I would never have booked. After a few hours we returned and could hardly breathe from whatever they had sprayed to kill the ants, extremely dangerous! I again asked reception to move us to a clean room and after saying they had no other rooms they amazingly found one unfortunately it stunk of cigarette smoke, I told Sergio about the smell of smoke and he called me a liar (see the photos of the cigarette burnt table from the room that reception say hadn’t been smoked in) I again asked for a cancellation because the second room smelt so badly from cigarette smoke but was refused and given the Diamond Resort booking line which was confusing considering I was told they were no longer a Diamond Resort. The apartment I was given was more like a prison cell and Cave than a hotel room with bars on the windows. The whole experience was horrific and a total waste of money!…
Loved staying at this resort. It was lovely and quiet. We were there with our 2 children and they enjoyed playing in the pool.It was good not having to set an alarm for a sun bed and you could go down at any time and always availability. If not they would always find you a bed as beds were never allowed to lie with towels on.
Like the resort very clean close to beach and across road from peloma park, but does lack a few basic amenities, No brollies with sun beds , so not suitable for people f who like a bit of shade. Nice pool and can be a nice sun trap for sun worshippers
The Resort Is OK, not magnificent loud Music until late night on Weekends. A Lot Of Garbage, left for days. Has a wonderful jacuzzi pool, but open late in the morning and close early in the afternoon. There was even one day it was closed because “it was the Town holiday”. I have never heard of closing the facilities for any holiday! Food was good, but at the beach, only 300 feet away, there is a great number of great restaurants. About 20 minutes walk through the beach walkway to Puerto Marina, very nice all the way. It is worth it going there, beautiful with nice stores and restaurants and great arquitecture.
Loved the apartment; everything was perfect. Everything was super clean, working well and easy to use. Service was great. Pool was awesome and the entire resort was as clean as possible. I will definitely come back here, and to Benalmadena.
I have made an official complaint to Diamond Resorts, and also complained during my stay, but I have been offered no compensation so here is the review I’ve been waiting to write since my return. I have stayed in Diamond resorts in Mijas, Lanzarote and the other resort the Sahara sunset in Benalmadena on 8 different occasions so I know what to expect from the Diamond resorts. This holiday, to celebrate a 60th birthday has been rolled over since 2020 and was greatly anticipated by 3 generations, aged from 5 to 62 years, a group of 10 in 3 apartments. On arrival at 2am because of a delay we were checked in by a non English speaking member of staff who showed us on a piece of paper where our rooms were. We struggled to find the 3 rooms with lots of luggage, tired children, dimly lit walkways and cracked, dangerous walkways. On previous stays in other diamond resorts, a staff member would help with luggage and show you to your room, but not this time. 2 bedroom apartment - right next to the laundry room. Staff working all night, talking, shouting all night. Slamming trolleys next to the bedroom wall and waking the children, washing machines slammed shut and going all night every night. No balcony. Looking out onto a busy road. Awful. 2 bedroom apartment - no balcony. No outside space. Window looking onto a busy road. Felt like prison. 1 bedroom apartment - tiny balcony taken up by an ac unit. Very busy road below. We could of put up with the rooms if the resort had been ok but that’s where the problems started. Staff are soooooo rude! It needs a major refurb to bring it up to standard, shabby walkways, dirty lifts, small pool area with daily work on the pool area, no umbrellas!! It was 30 degrees! No umbrellas around the pool. No balls or inflatables allowed, the lifeguard took stuff off our and other children daily. We paid 4 euros each for towels to use around the pool, told we could change them daily. But there was no pool attendant, so there was no one available to change towels, we were told to keep them for the week! I ended up washing them every few days. Unbelievable. Before we left, from home I rung the resort to ask about the bar and restaurant situation. I was told it was opening on 1st June, 2 days after we arrived, this was confirmed when we arrived. There is no bar and restaurant open, it was a complete lie. It was chained shut. So….. no where to get a drink, water, an ice cream for the kids, we had to leave the complex to walk to a nearby supermarket, a full time job with 4 grandchildren. I asked at reception and rang reservations to ask if we could transfer to the sunset Sahara in Benalmadena. This was refused. We booked lunch in the casbah restaurant in the sunset Sahara and spent the afternoon there. It was like a different world…..umbrellas, big pool area, music playing, games for the kids, bar with great service, ice creams, happy staff. Really lovely to be back there for a few hours. Please, book the sunset if you are considering Benalmadena. So, this holiday was very expensive, over £5000 for the accommodation which was not as promised or described on the diamond resorts or booking.com websites, misleading pictures, and definitely not of Diamond standard. Benalmadena is lovely, the Paloma park is great. We made the best of it, but ended up spending to get out of the ‘hotel’ instead of relaxing. Beach, water park, cable cars, boat trip etc. Long review but lots to say as we were all so disappointed.…
