Beautifully situated in a quiet location approx 30 mins from Palma, set in a large gardens of mediterranian plants, tress and herbs this is a fabulous place to stay for a re - charge and escape from everyday life!
From arrival to departure all the staff were fabulous, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Throughout our stay we were made to feel very special.
The room was bright, modern, decorated with subtle colours and had all the amenities you would expect at a five star hotel. We had a large balcony with views across the gardens and pool.
The restaurant has a large open kitchen and serves Asian/Mediterranian fusion with an extensive list of possibilities and combinations.
There were quite a few couples staying who had young children and i could see that this hotel is obviously works well for them and is very child friendly.
There is a large family pool and aslo an adult only pool seperated by the outdoor bar/ restaurant, which makes the adult pool a quiet realxing area.
The Gym, Spa and very large indoor pool are all very impressive and beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.
I would throughougly reccomend this lovely hotel for a 4 /5 night stay or a long weekend break, with or without young children.
As mentioned, Monica Bonnin was a wonderful resource, Job Lopez at the desk was very helpful and friendly to talk to, and there was another lady at the desk that could not have been more patient and helpful with us setting up the chef’s taste and other dining reservations, but I can’t remember her name. Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, 3 pools including a giant indoor, outdoor, and adults only pool, great scenery. Never thought I would visit Mallorca, but we sure are happy we did, and very happy Kimpton opened up a location here. Great job, Kimpton!
As others have mentioned the property is located a little out of the way (about 1 mile to Santa Ponca) and next time we would probably hire a car to explore the island some more. Me and my partner enjoy walking but it is a little far. Despite this the property are very helpful, and even assisted us in driving us into Santa Ponca upon checking out. The secluded location of course offers itself for plenty of relaxation, and the pool area is well stocked with various different kinds of sunbeds.
Overall a great stay and look forward to returning again soon!
There are two outdoor pools, one is adults only and the other allows children. The children’s pool is nicer in my opinion and has comfy Bali beds which you can use free of charge. As I visited in October there was no fights for sun-beds and we were actually first to the pool everyday (at 11am) and always managed to secure a Bali bed. There’s also a lovely indoor pool. Sunbathing by the pool was so relaxing and chilled.
We had breakfast at the hotel each day and I was pleased they could provide me with gluten free bread and muffins. There’s an extensive breakfast buffet and also an ala carte menu. Whilst I really enjoyed breakfast it would be great to see the hotel label all buffet items so guests can clearly see the ingredients and allergens present in the dishes. The first few days breakfast service was also a bit slow and it was ages before we were offered orange juice, tea and coffee. After a couple of days into our trip breakfast service improved significantly. We ate lunch at the restaurant everyday and had dinner there once. The food was good and they were able to accommodate my dietary requirements (I’m gluten free and also pregnant so can’t eat certain things). The food was good but the dinner and lunch menu are almost identical so it would be nice to see a bit more variety.
This hotel is s perfect if you’re looking for a luxurious holiday where you’re happy golfing or lazing about the pool and hotel. If you’re looking to go out at night Santa ponsa and palma nova are a short 10/15 min taxi away, however, in my opinion neither of these areas are particularly nice.
From the moment we arrived their fantastic team could not do enough for us, booking transport, helping with dinner reservations, and answering our many questions about the spa and services available, never mind keeping us topped up with gin and tonic and some marvellous Albariño white wine. We ate at one of the in house restaurants twice (Saba) and the food was excellent, especially the pork ribs and dumplings. There was another restaurant not yet open but we had tapas at lunchtime on the terrace which was wonderful - the bravas were unreal and the croquettes superb. The pool was pretty cold for the time of year we visited but as we had some hot days it was worth it! I can imagine it being perfect in the summer and there were lots of sun beds and some lovely cabanas. Pool was lifeguard served and there was another smaller pool we didn’t utilise.
We had a queen room and it was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and with a large bathroom and terrace. The beds were so comfortable and linens of a very high standard.
So many staff I want to name check for their excellent service so apologies if I miss anyone out:
Big thanks to Alba, Andres, Laura,
Samir, Pedro and Benjamin for their wonderful service and great conversation, and to the lovely Eva for being such a superstar all weekend.
Can’t wait to come back in 2023!
Kevin and Jinie were particularly helpful, and one other man but I didn't get his name unfortunately.
We were directed to off the tourist track beaches and eateries, and our holiday plans were based around their suggestions.
The hotel is lovely, food and drink a little pricey and location means taxi trips - unless you take the offer of the shuttle rides free with the hotel.
Bedroom was so comfortable, beautiful bed and peaceful at night.
We recomend the hotel - and the people
Thank you so much to the team at Kimpton Aysla xxx
This hotel is refreshingly modern in design with stunning gardens. It has two pools which are delightful. The common areas , bars , restaurants , patios are superb. Clearly a lot of thought & effort has been put in to create a tasteful environment for guests to relax in.
Our room was similarly impressive. Elegantly decorated , spacious, well appointed, good technology & a surprising amount of outdoor space again tastefully laid out with good furniture.
On arrival Claudia greeted us warmly & efficiently in fact those members of the reception team we met were always friendly & helpful.
Again when our transfer to the airport couldn’t find the hotel Lucas went above & beyond the call of duty to help us.
So why 3 stars?
1. The breakfast offered was limited & not of a very high standard ( the coffee was always disappointing)
2. Housekeeping failed to supply toilet paper two days running despite our requests for it ( for insurance we started to get our own from the toilets in the common areas). Also coffee pods were not restocked
3. A light bulb was missing in our room & a tap in the bathroom kept falling off ( this was promptly fixed)
4. Our biggest concern was the defensive & unfriendly attitude of the hairless ( he hid it with a cap) waiter at the pool restaurant & the young barman with long blonde hair. Both were chippy & brusque. I did not expect to be asked to take my own drinks back to the pool area when all other guests were getting table service or to hear the waiter muttering something under his breath when we ordered food. As a consequence we did not eat there again.
As I mentioned above it was not my original intention to leave a review but to prevent other people from having a similar experience these deficiencies should be addressed.
Small suggestions for improvement: A heater in the bathroom would be an advantage in the cold months. Also a toilet brush....
And for €18, the Aperitif Spritz could be served "nicer" by the pool.
Overall verdict: A really great hotel - we'll be back...
The rooms are beautiful and the resort is brand new. It’s gorgeously designed. The AC in the rooms is excellent (never a given in Europe!) and the shower pressure is fantastic. The balcony in our room was fantastic, large and very quiet at night. The pools and pool beds are nice.
But the service! No towels replaced or picked up at the pool. No staff at breakfast - you just walk in and stand around trying to figure out if you should sit down. When you sit down someone finally runs over demanding your room number. There’s an a la carte menu at breakfast, but we only received the menu at the table once out of 3 days, and no one ever asked if we wanted to order from it so we never actually got a chance to try it. Coffee service is slow and you have to flag everyone down.
Pool bar was similar. Once I was standing and someone came out asking if I had been helped. I said no and he said “well my colleague should have helped you.” I ended up just getting up at every meal and walking over towards a waiter and asking for something.
Disappointingly the pool restaurant was closed because October is the start of low season, but the weather was 30C and lots of people were by the pool.
Overall just really disappointing for what I perceive to be an upscale brand at Kimpton.
