We camped from 12/26/16 through 12/31/16. The trains are not running this time of year and we had the whole campground to ourselves!! The campground is beautiful with the piney woods and the lake. Too bad it is no longer a Texas State Park. The office was closed the last 2 days we were there which was kind of strange....

Don't believe the website description of this place. The sites are paved pull throughs compromised of turnouts off the narrow access road. Some are very bumpy and unevel. Others are okay. The bathrooms in the RV campsite loop are disgusting. On a Friday afternoon around 2 pm this is what we saw: Men's bathroom was dirty. The two shower stalls...

It was a last minute idea and it was the best for me and the hubby. We did two nights stay and it was awesome, quite, and scenic plus fishing!! There is a train ride that's loud but it's not a annoying only last a few minutes. We did tent site and we had restroom, shower, fire pit, and grill...

We visited this park in 38 foot class A motor home. There are trash cans everywhere and we ran over 2 of them. Not in well marked spots and hard to see in a big motor home. There was hardly any cell service although they advertise they have it. The restrooms were not clean and the showers had no heat...
