Well, for $80 a night in RED season we weren't expecting too much, but it was our only choice. This place is very bare-bones Double beds are not comfortable (bring your own pillow). It's old, chintzy and probably should be torn down in the not-so-distant future but fairly clean. We did find a woman's T-shirt under our bed… Didn't belong...

Thankfully we only needed to stay one night. Basic accommodations. Mattresses are hard and felt the springs. The walls are thin so noise easily travels and I had to put my jacket at the base of the door to keep out the cold and the light. The sheets were thin & pillows are flat. Didn't expect much more for the...

There were no extras here but it got the job done. No coffee maker or microwave but there is a fridge. We found some great places to eat nearby: Circle D, The Mercantile, Outfitters. Plus, the easy access to amazing scenery and sights was perfect. Petrified Forest is close. It's close to many of the majors sights for Grand Staircase-Escalante.

We had a very friendly check in at the Prospector and she pointed out the restaurant's where to eat. The room was OK but the carpet had lots of stains and there were a lot of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling by the window. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean.

This place charged $95 for a room. For that price, the blanket was paper thin, there was no heat in the bathroom, no hairdryer, and the room heater was so loud that we had problems sleeping while it was on. The person who checked us in told us the beds were queen-size, but this "queen-size" was smaller than the queens...

There aren't a lot of lodging options in Escalante so when we were in town for the weekend, we decided to stay at the Prospector Inn. Overall, the hotel is in god condition right on the main street as you pull into town. The rooms are a bit dated and the beds are really firm so they could definitely use...

Very clean rooms with comfortable beds, small refrigerator and microwave. Nice location in Escalante. Decor is dated - who cares. TV and free WiFi. Had everything we needed. Not as pretty as some national chains but then not priced like them either. Would stay here again.

Simple, accessible lodging in the center of town. They are friendly and get the job down. Place looks a little more run down than in the past, but it is clean and accessible. Two good restaurants across the street.

Upon arrival to Escalante, where we had an unpleasant conversation with the owner of "B & B", ( 280 W Main Street), we decided, despite the late hour, to look for another place to sleep. On the same street, we noticed "Prospector Inn" where we easily got 3 rooms for our 3 couples And for better price. Friendly manager answered...

We stayed here in the offseason. The rates were very affordable and the lady at the desk was helpful and had a great sense of humor. The rooms were clean and we ended up staying an extra night because it was so convenient to the Hole In The Rock Road.
