Far far away, in the middle of a small desert town lies true gold. It's called the River Terrace Inn. If you book on the river side you will you find a charming chandeliered motel room overlooking the slow flowing, aptly named Green River. Your super clean room comes with comfy beds, complimentary breakfast (I had the chile verde omelet; there are ample selections to choose from), adequate air conditioning, cold fridge, microwave, and a small sofa. The staff is responsive to any issues. There’s a refreshing swimming pool on the side, and cushioned patio furniture on the motel’s rear. It’s really lovely. Why stay at a chain in expensive, hectic Moab when quiet Green River is only 40 minutes to the national parks?
We stayed here on June 30, 2021 - a stop on the way to a ranch holiday in Colorado. I only wish the ranch in Colorado would have been as nice as the River Terrace Inn. This is a terrific find. Clean, pleasant staff, terrific breakfast - even in the age of Covid!! This is one place that doesn't use Covid as an excuse to bail out on a breakfast like so many of the chain hotels where you'll get cellophane wrapped muffins and maybe some cereal. The breakfast staff takes your order, the chef cooks it and then it is delivered to you in a take-out box for you to eat at socially distanced tables inside or outside in the sunshine. The breakfasts are lovely - pancakes, sausage, chorizo, French toast & eggs as well as some mouth watering cinnamon rolls made fresh. The rooms are more '60's or 70's' but the furniture is tidy, the beds are comfy and the linens are fresh and clean. Forget about the chain hotel down the road near the interstate - stay in this lovely gem and ask for a room overlooking the Green River. The grounds are also delightful and there is a restaurant next door if you need to get dinner. Just a great find. Thanks to all the staff for remembering what good service is all about!…
Green River is a sad sack of a town, but it's a good stopping point on our road trip to New Mexico. The River Terrace Inn was perfect for us. It's a little on the older side, but the size of the room and the amenities it offers makes it worth it. (fridge, microwave and coffee maker). It was quiet and after our great night's sleep we were additionally thrilled with our breakfast the next morning. We had omelets to order and they were delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient. We will definitely return here.
Beautiful view of the river with great care taken with the gorgeous landscaping. Enjoyed the pool area too. Very large and luxurious room and bathroom with super comfortable bed. Delicious homemade breakfast was so appreciated. Spent 2 relaxing nights.
We stayed one night on our way to Canyonlands National Park and we were delighted with our stay. The pool was inviting and the rooms were clean and the grounds were lovely. The facility is older, but it has been well maintained and is very charming.
