Better than nothing, I suppose. We have stayed here at least 10 times, because we take our dog with us when we go hiking in southern Utah. Hanksville is convenient for a night's stay if you are coming out the San Rafael Swell, the Henry Mountains, or canyons along Hwy. 95 and are tired and dirty. There are better choices in Green River or Torrey, but both towns are more than a 60 minute drive from Hanksville. Over the years, the office managers have seemed indifferent/incoherent at times. The current manager likes to play music in the picnic/shed area in the center of the parking lot, usually in the early evening. Eat breakfast somewhere else--the 'breakfast' in the motel office isn't worth the time to walk there from your room. The best restaurant in Hanksville, Duke's, is across the street (but is only open during tourist season). We have never seen rodents or bed bugs in a room we stayed in. An OK place to crash if you don't want to camp outdoors, but that's it.

The so called breakfast was none existing. There was an old waffle maker in a very stinky office. Was that the promised breakfast for the next morning? Who knows. The place is old, outdated, electric wires hanging around and not code complied. Sorry, for that price the place is a racket. Stay across the street. That place is nice and clean and new.

We had no hot water. There is no phone in the room. The first time I went to the office, it was locked and no one answered the door. I went back and the person working screamed at me and told me I was too stupid to turn it on right. I think he was on drugs. Alaso the sheets were dirty.

My husband and his friends asked to cancel 3 rooms out of 5 reserved for Tuesday, May 28. The owner said he could not do that because of the holiday weekend (which ended on Monday). Then the group discovered that the owner had sold the rooms to other people. The owner acted vitriolic and aggressive when called out on this and threw $200 dollars at them...about half of what he owed them. Stay away from this motel...it's Crazy-Town.

I think many of the bad reviews come from unrealistic expectations. It's an inexpensive motel in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Our room was clean. No complaints. I noticed the phrase "live music" on the sign out front and wondered what that was all about. At dusk, a shed in the parking lot opened and a DJ started playing tunes. There is a deck also, and a few people were dancing until the rain started and everyone went inside. The music then went on auto-pilot.
