Worst experience ever. To be precise, I can't tell anything about the rooms etc ... because they never let me in. But let me tell the whole story: Due to some hassle with another hotel, I lost my reservation for that day and had to find something in or near Hanksville for the next day (on Memorial Day weekend). Bad...

Myself and a friend were backpacking about 400 miles of the Hayduke Trail from Arches National Park to Escalante. We originally planned to re-supply at Hite, but it was closed, so we re-supplied at Hanksville and stayed at the Hanksville Inn. Ed, the owner, allowed us to send out re-supply packages to him so we would not be hampered by...

Ed, the owner is a man with a lot of character. He works extremely hard to try to keep this old motel up and running. Not quite the only game in town but close the summer demand keeps this place alive. It's definitely not pretty but Ed does take some pride in his establishment and has been upgrading the rooms...

We always enjoy supporting locally owner run businesses so we were kinda psyched to stay at the Hanksville Inn. However the room we stayed in, and the atmosphere of the hotel were a little too rough for us. The windows are broken, the bed has the bottom kinda popped out, the wall paneling is splitting apart in spite of the...

We needed a place to stay with our 2 dogs for 2 nights while on a road trip. This was the only option. It looks rundown and old from the street, so I was very nervous about the room. When we opened the door, our English Shepherd ran in, took a quick look, and promptly ran back to the car....

On vacation from the UK and on our way to Bryce and Zion. Very basic but clean modestly priced motel in the outback of Utah with WiFi. Wonderful surrounding scenery. Owner very welcoming and proud to show off his pet cat. Opposite is Dukes Slickrock Grill, (10% discount if you mention you're staying at the Inn). Some of the finest...

For a quick night's sleep, this place is fine at a good price. Came in late at night, and in fact just had them leave the rooms open for our group. Then we got up and left early. Although old, the rooms were well kept and the beds comfortable.

Stayed 1 night in early September 2014. Hanksville is quite a unique spot with character and this motel has a character that fits the remote location. The motel owner greeted me when I checked in and gave me all the info I needed (such as getting a discount at restaurant opposite if I mentioned that I was staying at the...

Ok...the place is old. There are some patches & hard water stains on the bathroom walls, but guess what? The rooms are clean, linens fresh, and there's a fridge, microwave,& TV. Fire pits and deck are a nice addition. What this motel lacks in genteel ambience,it makes up for in character. Add to that a 10% discount at the great steakhouse across...

Don't be put off by the rustic sign or the tattered chairs outside the rooms. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and incredibly friendly. The staff treated us like family. An excellent value. We would go out of our way to stay there again. There are plenty of soulless, characterless motels in America and fortunately Hanksville Inn is NOT one of...
