We knew John and Cindy from their previous B+B in New Hampshire and always enjoyed staying there. Their new venture is a work in progress. They have done a wonderful job on the inn itself. It is furnished beautifully. And the breakfasts are the best I've ever had at a B+B. They working hard getting the grounds back to what...

Thank you for your review. We enjoy seeing guests from our previous Inn. It is heartening to have guests follow us and explore our new Inn and the wonderful town of Brattleboro! The gardens have progressed greatly since your visit, and we look forward to you coming back to see them. Next Spring should bring with it the grandest gardens...

Beautiful rooms and healthy, tasty breakfasts. John and Cindy (and Libby) were charming hosts, very friendly and helpful, recommendeding nearby sites and history. Our trip to Brattleboro was unplanned, but we're so glad we stopped here to admire the lovely fall colors and sample New England hospitality!

Ricki, Thank you so much for your review. It was a pleasure meeting you both and getting to know you a bit. You hit the Autumn colors just about perfectly, which is always good when traveling this time of year in New England. Libby will start Navy boot camp in just a couple of months in your neck of the...

We were two couples visiting New England for the fall foliage and stayed two nights here while in Brattleboro. The Inn changed hands (and names - it is now the Inn on Putney Road) last summer and the new innkeepers, John & Cindy, are doing much to spruce up the grounds and common areas. The inn is set back off...

Thank you so much for your kind review. It is a pleasure hosting guests in this wonderful Inn. As you mentioned, we are working hard on the yard and gardens. We are endeavouring to return them to the formal grandeur that they enjoyed in day's past. We have taken the front hedges down from 10' to about 4.5'. That is...

Laid back and charming. Stayed in sun and moon room. Comfortable bed, pillows, robes and soft sheets, chocolates, books, delicious breakast, tea, cookies and coffee 24/7. Lovely grounds evolving with great plans by kind hosts. You will want to stay more then one day!

Thank you Ellen for your kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you guys. We are looking forward to completing the back-yard improvements so that we can move on to the front yard before the winter sets in. As soon as the snow flies, we will be turning our attention to guest room renovations. We are excited for you to...

We had a great stay here and John and Cindy along with Abby made it happen with their arms wide open. John and Cindy invited us to the patio where others were gathered around a small table enjoying wine and cheer. Nice surprise was John and Cindy provide the wine at call with no charge and sat with us to...

Thank you Scott, for your wonderful review. One of the best parts of staying in a B&B is meeting and getting to know the guests. Although some guests would rather keep to themselves, and we respect that, others enjoy meeting and chatting with the diverse group we have here at The Inn on Putney Road. It was great meeting you...

40 Putney Road was our first stop on a 2 week trip through New England. John and Cindy are excellent hosts and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Outstanding breakfast! Easy walking distance to historic downtown and beautiful trail access. We highly recommend to anyone for the classic Vermont Inn experience.

Thank you Jeff, for your kind review. With downtown Brattleboro being only a few blocks away, it is an easy walk for guests that don't want to take their car and have to find parking to enjoy the eclectic nature of this wonderful corner of New England. The trails of the Hoggle Nature Preserve come right to our back yard,...

Our first visit was memorable with Cindy's scrumptious breakfasts a treat. The Garden Room overlooking the beautiful backyard with the fountain and Japanese maple tree was comfortable and spacious. The comfy bed had excellent quality linens. A suggestion would be to supply a hard copy visitor's map showing the area's attractions and restaurants in relation to Forty Putney's location. A...

Thank you for your suggestions Kenneth. We are in the process of putting together the restaurant book for guests, and a map is a wonderful idea. Being only blocks from a plethora of restaurant choices, we want to provide as much information on the eating establishments, to make choosing easier for our guests. We are excited for you to return...

Stayed at Forty Putney Road B&B in late September 2016 (note shortly to be renamed the Inn on Putney Road). Thank you so much for your review. We love to hear guests making the switch to B&Bs as a favorite way to stay. We are also honored to be part of the conversion.
