This place was awesome! Unique. Great place to chill with other riders/boarders. Me and my girlfriend stayed here in winter of 2015. Sauna, pool table & hang out living room downstairs. Still telling stories about how great this place was. Hippy-college vibe. Very friendly.

Just spent 2 nights here, not a bad place at all, easy to get to, close to many things that you need to be close by, like walking distance. 10 mins to Jay Peak, which is great!!! Cool sauna, awsome byob bar/kitchen, a total mans cave, complete with pool table, darts, wood stove, and sharemning area, all in the bar!!... More

Went with my wife midweek before Valentine's day, they let us use the honeymoon suite that has its own bathroom and waterbed. The daughter of the family took care of us and even got my delivery of flowers and chocolates that I had sent so when we came back from skiing it was on the bed waiting for us, my... More

I stayed here while hiking through VT. The place is conveniently located near the Long Trail and also right in town. Awesome grocery store with great beer and wine selection. The lodge itself is certainly nothing fancy, but what it lacks in this area it is made up by the friendliness of the staff (family owned) and convenience. It was... More

When we was in Vermont in ( 2009 ) to visiting my family my husband and I stayed at Grampa Grunts Lodge, The Owner God rest his soul, he was so wonderful to us. Montgomery Center Vermont is a quiet peaceful place. There is a nice little dinning place almost right across the street and store for what ever you... More

This place is by far nothing fancy, but you're saving money and probably only going to stay a night or two. Almost a hostle-like lodge. Includes a full-on breakfast (weekends that I'm aware of) and has a kitchen where you could prepare your own food as well. The bar in the basement is BYOB and is a fun atmosphere to... More

Our friends planned the original trip to grampa grunts and now we're planning one to bring our friends. While at the lodge we read a lot of the history about it on the walls- whether it was the carvings or what the owners posted. We visited soon after the passing of Grampa, however it was still an awesome trip. Know... More

Had a reservation from November and they dropped me for a college trip and did not even have the decency to inform me. Better off staying in Burlington its cheaper overall. Grunts puts five people in a room at $35 a person a night and calls it a deal when you can get a room at the Hilton in Burlington... More

We are very sorry for this experience. It was our mistake not returning your message, but a message on our answering machine does not a reservation make. I am glad to see you found a place in Burlington and hope all worked out well for you. Your original call in November was just after Grampa's passing and we were in... More

Just spent a Wednesday night there on our way to Jay Peak. Have to admit when i saw the pics and some reviews i thought i would hate it but it's a great place. Ok, it isn't the cleanest most put together place in the state. You'll see graffiti on the walls..but that's the charm of it. Talk to the... More

Grampa Grunts Lodge <10 miles from Jay Peak, comfortable, laid back, friendly, amazing homemade breakfast, all for $47/night - everything I was hoping for and even a working sauna. Not for anyone looking for reason to complain. Just a great place to sleep, eat and chat with good people. Yea, I'd stay there again.
