A year ago we visited for an overnight and golf and did not have a good experience. Pennie, the owner/manager called it "not up to standards" and invited us back courtesy of the Inn. This time it was a completely different experience, from check in...More
Stayed at this property in early august. First room carpeting was wet and room stunk from mildew. Room was changed for balance of the stay. First night in dining room, dinner took 3 hours. Entrees cold or undercooked. Staff bought us drinks and gave us...More

Basin Harbor is very sorry that this guest's stay was less than optimal. Please do not equate being short staffed with not paying adequate wages. Since April, we have not been able to find replacements for the seven staff members who could not join us...More
My wife and I just enjoyed our fourth time staying at Basin Harbor and it still has the classic charm as our first visit about ten years ago. Their recent investment into their Boat Club with new docks and more amenities for families in and...More

One of our favorite things about Basin Harbor is that guests may arrive by land, sea or air. With many guests returning year after year, each improvement is tracked with enthusiasm. The golf staff were thrilled to be called out by name. It takes many...More
First impressions not so good: arrive after a tiring drive to a check-in experience which consisted largely of being asked to sign and initial a document in multiple places, confirming that we understood lots of things that weren’t allowed and/or would occur extra charges. Why...More

Well, ouch, we'll make sure the front desk crew focuses more on welcoming, less on initialing all those spots on the registration card. We gather that guests were in the Harbor Homestead, one of the historic buildings on the campus that has (due to its...More
Stayed here for three nights. General impression is that it's a great place for families. Not so great for couples. Would have love to have found somewhere 'quiet' in the resort. The resort just looked a bit tired in places. We stayed at the Homestead....More

It's pretty cool to see an osprey fishing, isn't it? We have seen 93 species of birds at Basin Harbor. It is a shame these guests didn't ask to be moved. The Homestead is in the heart of the resort, near the waterfront, and that's...More

It is always our goal to have all amenities up and running during Social Season. Please feel free to call me at 800-622-4000 at any time for an update. I don't recall which amenities were not available at the end of last summer, but the Burgee Bar at the waterfront would be the most likely, regrettably. Golf, tennis, boating, retail, children's programming and dining would not be affected. Pennie Beach
I think Burlington is the nearest airport and it is about 45 minutes away- though not a bad drive at all. I don't know about the ski area you mentioned but you could plug it into your phone to find out.
