The Coolidge is not a modern Starwood, Hilton or Mariott and it doesn't try to be. Instead it is a classic older hotel with real wood paneling, a majestic main staircase, comfortable, clean rooms with solid furniture and an extremely friendly and helpful staff who put Keurig coffee out as early as 4 AM. The little Boho cafe attached to...

My daughter and I spent one night here and it was awful. It is half hotel and half boarding house. The room was very old and not very clean. Dried blood on the bed sheets and no response from management.

Hi Jennifer, I'm Judith Falk, the Front Desk Manager here at Hotel Coolidge. I'm so sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. I do have a couple of questions--I'm wondering when you stayed with us? I do take my responsibilities as Front Desk Manager VERY seriously, and I know that I was not contacted about the issues you describe above....

Have stayed here several times over many years and always look forward to returning to The Coolidge and White River Junction. Spent a very nice evening with friends at a good restaurant and a very interesting performance The Main Street museum. Will definitely back.

Great location. Very friendly staff. A lot of history in that building. Eat at the Tucker Box. Food is great. No coffee in room, yikes. But a credit at the attached cafe with great coffee, that helped.

Hi Sean--so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and got to eat at the Tuckerbox. Isn't that place great?!? And the BoHo Cafe next to our lobby does a very fine job too--Come visit us again!

Have been staying at the Coolidge 3-4 nights per week for 6 months now and love the location, cleanliness and affordability. Relocating for work and needed long term temporary housing. Cool place to stay as long as you don't mind a historic hotel.

Thanks so much for your very nice review. Yes, a little-known option at the Hotel Coolidge is our long-term stay rooms, perfect for professionals relocating for work or here on a job for a few weeks or a few months. Thanks for highlighting this in your review! We will be sorry to see you go!

Old hotel, so expect old fixtures (sinks, windows) but the beds were very comfortable and the hot water for the showers was great! We had two rooms sharing a common bathroom, but neither bathroom door would close completely because the old doors had warped and they no longer lined up with the door frames. For our family, it was fine...

Hi Amy--I loved reading your review! Unvarnished, but very positive, and you clearly "get" The Hotel Coolidge! Glad too that our staff received high marks--everyone works very hard to ensure the comfort of our guests. And I'll alert the maintenance crew to the door situation you mentioned--thanks for bringing it to my attention. We look forward to seeing you this...

I hadn't been to the Coolidge in about 15 years, and was happy to see that it hadn't changed much. If what you want is old and charming at a reasonable rate, this is it. If it will bother you that parts of the hotel are, in fact, old, then don't bother. I love the place, and the staff is...

HI IsisM--thanks so much for your review. I agree completely, our history and character are the things that truly set us apart. That, along with our outstanding staff, and the wide range of local attractions, make The Hotel Coolidge a memorable experience. Hope to see you before another 15 years has passed!

I sincerely do not know how The Coolidge has received high ratings. It is an antique for sure and I have an attachment to this place as I spent a lot of time there as a child. We stayed over this past weekend and boy- it was disappointing. It's really rundown and the halls look like something out of the...

HIi, Liz! I'm so sorry that the boiler system woke up your kids! It does make noise, for sure, and I can see how little kids might be startled by it, although quite honestly, I haven't heard that from other parents with kids staying here--and we typically have families here most nights of the week, especially in the winter when...

I came into town to finish research on one book in the Dartmouth library and find a quiet room where I could start my new one. The Hotel Coolidge helped me accomplish both at an affordable rate (as opposed to Hanover prices). If you're looking for a pool, gym or spa, this isn't the property for you. The hotel is...

Hi, Maine Traveler, Thanks so much for a truly wonderful review! I loved it because you clearly "get" us! We are absolutely not a cookie-cutter hotel, we are truly an experience in real New England hospitality, and in a beautiful building which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. I will take issue with one thing, however--we have...

After reading some less than favorable reviews, I wasn't sure about staying at Hotel Coolidge, but I am SO glad that we went!
