The hotel is perfectly located to visit downtown Blacksburg, and/or Virginia Tech. It is a nice little hotel, very clean and neat. So, why the three? First, the rooms are very small and close to the street. Hardly any room to maneuver around the bed. The bathroom is also very small, and no fan, which bugs me in any modern/renovated...

I appreciate your comments and concern. Main Street Inn is the only independent hotel in Blacksburg and work hard to offer the same and more than the big boys outside of downtown. In regards to the bathroom vent. Current construction requires a central rooftop vent/exhaust system which is vented into each and every room that runs 24 hours a day...

We very much enjoyed our stay at the inn. It was very clean, adequate parking, congenial desk staff. The bed was Queen size, but felt like a full-size bed. Also, the air-conditioning unit is apparently on energy cycle so it goes on and off frequently. All in all, great location to downtown restaurants.

Oh my ...... I must assume we need better instructions on our air handlers as there is a setting for continuous fan. Yes, the location IS great. Nice to be able to park your car and never use it again.

This hotel has paper thin walls. I can hear the neighbors have a normal conversation like they are in my room. Never mind that it is 1:30 in the morning. Weren't it for my 6 year old sleeping (how he is able to I don't know) I would have requested a new room. The room layout is such that the...

So sorry your stay was not as you had hoped. I wish you had called the front desk if you were having trouble with noise from your neighbors. Our two room suite design gives our guests a little more privacy when traveling. I regret it didn't suit your needs.

Location: Excellent - walking distance to downtown Blacksburg and most areas of campus. East parking underneath hotel. Rooms: Average. Clean but already showing some wear and tear, separate sitting area/bed that I actually did not like because it made the sitting area dark and closed off. Shower was nice, toiletries smelled terrible (could use an upgrade there!). Bed was comfortable....

Thank you for your review. Yes, our location is excellent and is a light stroll to downtown restaurants, shops, galleries, and Virginia Tech. We do offer a light breakfast each morning of muffins or cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, breakfast bars, orange juice, coffee and tea each morning in our lobby. Our staff will read your review and learn from your...

We enjoyed are stay here, the hotel was clean, comfortable and overall very nice. The location is great with good restaurants and bars all walking distance. I however wasn't impressed with any of the staff clerks. They were not rude but not really friendly either. I would also highly recommend they consider getting car bumpers for the carport so no...

This is a small hotel. We stayed in a queen bed room. The room was unique in that the bed was separated from a sitting area. TV's were in both areas. I particularly liked it because one person could be sleeping while the other was up reading or watching tv. The room was very quiet. A great place to stay...

I'm so glad you enjoyed the two room suite design. It was designed to give some privacy when traveling. One may want to watch TV while the other guest prefers to get some much needed shut eye. Hope you can stay longer on your next visit to Blacksburg.

Overall I really enjoyed our stay at Main Street Inn as it had everything we needed. It was in the perfect location walking distance from pretty much everything in town. They even had cookies in the lobby everyday! I just think it was a little overpriced for the time of year. Other than that it was pretty nice!

Our families met in Blacksburg this spring to do some ancestry search and work out in the hills west of Blacksburg. We found the Main Street Inn to be perfectly placed in the center of town. Parking was difficult for larger vehicles, however, they had made arrangements to park in the parking garage right across the street at no cost....

Beds very comfortable, above average air conditioning(i.e. only runs when needed and has a temperature setting.) Hotel was clean. Room was clean and functional, if a little basic in decor and somewhat dim energy saving bulbs. Stay was pleasant and helpful. Can be a little noisy(cars and people) until around 11pm due to being downtown(not sure if that might run...

We were lucky enough to get a room for VT graduation and we couldn't have been more pleased. The room was fresh and clean and the location was perfect. Walking distance to everything. Farmers Market for goodies on Saturday morning. Coffee, apples and scones in the lobby as we started out. Highly recommend it!
