My boys and I were in town for the Duke-UVA basketball game. This hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance to the arena and to the Rotunda/main campus area. It is a little bit of an odd set up in that you have to walk outside on a balcony to access the rooms. But the room itself was clean,...

My husband and I were in town for a basketball game and normally stay at another local hotel when we visit but we decided to try the cavalier inn such it was so close to the JPJ arena. We were not even in our room 5 minutes before we checked out. The Air did not work in the room when...

Great location, clean but no temperature control in the rooms. The air conditioning is turned off in the winter and we just happen to go on a very warm weekend in February. My husband and I were very uncomfortable We had to keep the door opened until we went to bed (which was very uncomfortable) and then temperature increased through...

Not to be uncharitable or pile on with the many unfavorable reviews here, but it is worthwhile to forewarn travelers about this motel. Charlottesville is filled with fine motels with competitive rates, but this one rests its appeal on its monopoly on its central location at UVA. And the price is only $15 less than the good motels in town....

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, with needed amenities. It is an older building, but everything was well maintained. The breakfast was actually decent with a wide variety of food.

We stayed New Years Eve. Friendly front desk staff, the room was very nice upon first glance, obviously older but kept up well. Sad to hear it's being torn down, it's a decent, inexpensive place to stay in Charlottesville near UVA.

We stayed thanksgiving week 2016. Yes it is an older building but we have stayed here the last 4 years to visit the Charlottesville area and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The front desk staff has always been very nice and helped with anything when asked. The only complaint we have is we found out they are taking this building down...

External entrances, old, refurb'd hotel. Check in was smooth and the people nice, and the location is good for access to all areas of UVA. Decent breakfast place next door, breakfast at the hotel was OK. On the level of a Ramada/Comfort Inn.

Three friends and I visited Charlottesville for one night for a short birthday weekend/getaway trip. We stayed in one room with two double beds which was a little tight for four, but great for one night. The beds and sheets were comfortable, the room was quiet, and we had no complaints or issues with the shower/bathroom. The location was great...
