My wife and I recently enjoyed a night out at the Clifton Inn. We had the full tasting menu for dinner and then retired back to the Meriwether Lewis suite. This suite was visually very appealing - breadboard ceiling, stone floors, white decor with lovely dark woods. We were very impressed. Then we got in the bed...there is no reason...

Wow. I booked a room at the inn by email. Then I learned a gravely ill friend was in his last days. Using the same email I used to make my reservation for three days straight I tried to reach the inn to get info about how to cancel or change my reservation. The inn never had the courtesy to...

We have shared this with our Management team here at The Clifton Inn to ensure that this will never be repeated. We have also reached out to "DarTanzania" in regards to this issue to rebuild any bridges. Kind regards, Niall Reid General Manager

Totally surprised to have had worst Inn experience ever. Much anticipated two night stay. Lovely setting/grounds all in keeping w/historic area.Shortly after sundown a spider here, spider there (Master Naturalist so don't scare easy)however they just kept coming.Don't know if the foot traffic from the office upstairs disturbed them but more and more I felt 'housed in a shed'.Notified the desk.Nice...

Thanks to Nail and his staff for a wonderful evening to benefit the Arc of the Piedmont, Great service, wonderful food and a great job all around. 3rd time Clifton has supported the Arc and donated everything, venuw, food, and the staff donated their time to make this a winning event to help raise money for a great local charity....

I have visited the Clifton Inn on two different occasions and both times I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - it is a beautiful setting, lovely appointed rooms, very pleasant and helpful staff and a wonderful restaurant. Both times I have visited in January and the rates at that time of year have been discounted. The estate is rich with history...

Our stay was pleasant, though we got the impression that because there aren't many guests right now, we were a bit of a distraction. The good side of that: we were upgraded to a better room (the Jefferson- hence the good value rating!), the downside: we were told we could fish and play tennis- but then they were unable or...

First off, let me say that in general, we love the Clifton. We were married here a few years ago and have stayed in almost every room from the largest (The Carriage House) to the smallest (The Garden Room). The overall atmosphere is very romantic and charming... laid back elegance with a European flair... where colonial Virginia meets French country....

Thank you for submitting overall, an absolutely glowing review of the Clifton Inn. We really appreciate it. We love hearing feedback such as the nicest wedding venue ... the overall atmosphere is romantic and charming ...etc. But, we are not so happy that Glowgirl did not enjoy dinner with us and this has been shared with our entire team here....

I recently stayed at the Clifton Inn for a company retreat. The facility and service was wonderful, and we'll definitely be returning. We had dinner in the wine cellar, which was a great atmosphere and highly recommended for a party of 8-12 guests. Kudos Clifton Inn.

We stayed here recently for 2 nights. The setting and in particulare the infinity pool area is beautiful. We had dinner on both nights. Food was very good. Portions are small, however it is a gourmet meal and with four courses, plus an appetizer and unusual breads, you don't want large portions. it was good value too at $62.00 Service...

Having heard and read about Clifton Inn over the years, I decided last minute to overnight in Charlottesville and called the day of. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect overnight - traveling solo. If with my tall husband, the room would have never worked - for me, it was perfect (realizing they paired me with the small cozy...
