Anchor Inn and Marina Bay hotel are linked and you can use the same pool and breakfast is included. Nice atmosphere and they light the fire pits in the evening that you can sit around. You can also walk down to the end of the dock and they have a pergola with deck chairs you can sit out. Rooms are clean and every room has a balcony. Would stay here again. Good customer service :-)

Pros: .Can walk to room without using an elevator (great during the pandemic) .Travis, at reception, was absolutely accommodating when we flip flopped reservations. . Two sinks with plenty of counter space. One in the room with the toilet, another in a separate area. Very hygienic. I prefer to keep toiletries away from toilet area. .Best: A through-the-wall air conditioner. Yes, old fashioned, but these actually cool and aren’t controlled by a computer to save electricity. I, like many others, can’t sleep in a warm room. I also didn’t need to worry about Covid being transmitted through the ventilation system. Lovely view from room 259, although 260 may have been a tiny bit better. We had a water view. This enabled us to watch different species of birds, especially purple Martin’s that apparently nest under the piers in front of our balcony. Wonderful for watching rocket launches on Wallops Island. The negative: WIFI in room at 10:30 pm: Download 2.16 Mbps, Upload 0.66 Mbps. May have been better at other times. My daughter had room 152. It had a view of a stairs, and parking lot. That wasn’t as bad as being surrounded by noise from both, as well as neighbors. She couldn’t sleep.

Our first impression was not great. Immediately upon walking into our room, we were met with musty, damp room and lots of flies (which we were never able to fully get rid of). The tub was stained as if someone with dirty feet had used it. There was a bottle cap and small children's toy in one corner, suggesting housekeeping wasn't very thorough. I called to ask about getting a different room, and was told there weren't any available, and that I had probably let the flies in myself, being near the water and all, and that the tub was most definitely clean, it was just stained due to age. (We later saw that housekeeping leaves the door open to the outside while they clean the rooms, which was probably the source of the flies). That said, I had several pleasant interactions with that same staffer after that. Overall, the room seemed tired, and could use a deep cleaning, a coat of paint and some fresh caulk, but it was tolerable, particularly given the great views of the bay from our porch, which we loved. Due to the location of the building, all of the rooms have a pretty good water view-- I imagine the ones that advertise a view are on the second floor, and are less obstructed however. We also liked the pool next door at the Marina Bay (same company as the Anchor Inn), which was a lifesaver when the beach was closed. If you're counting on breakfast, be aware that due to COVID, their breakfast is limited and consists of coffee, and a bag containing a bottle of water, an apple, and a muffin. I think there may have also been yogurt and cereal available upon request. Anyway, it was fine, but I wouldn't go back-- there are better options at that price point on the island.
