We visited friends while they stayed at the Fries New River RV Park and had a very enjoyable visit. Easy access to the New River State park for bicycling, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The site is located in a valley with a small stream. The RV's line up end to end with a stream/hillside view, some with decks and some...

I too found this campground while browsing on Tripadvisor and agree with all of the positive comments. If you are looking for a peaceful, restful and most enjoyable stay, this is the place for you. If you have children and/or require full activities such as a pool, planned activities, playground, laundry, then this campground will not be your cup of...

Very attractive spots in a little box canyon along a stream. Pea gravel sites are large and level. However XFinity cable did not work at all and ZERO Verizon cell service despite walking across the road into town. Wi-if was fast. Bike trail is gravel- good for mountain bikes but not road bikes although the owner offered to loan us...

Fries New River RV Park is a hidden gem! The park is nestled in a very quaint Holler. From the moment we pulled-in, I knew this park was special. The owner (Tom) was very friendly / informative. At the completion of our check-in he gave us some of his wife's homemade pumpkin muffins! This gesture was a very unique "Down...

Found this gem on tripadvisor (thank you posters) and called the owner and he gave directions how to get there. We asked for a pull thru and told him we were big and he said he had the perfect spot just come on over. And he was right we had enough room for our rig, garage porch our motorcycles and...

This park had goods reviews and it exceeded our expectations. The owners were friendly and helpful. The sites were level and beautiful. The New River Trail was across the street. A great place to ride bikes or run. The park even offers bikes. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a wonderful setting this is it!

This park is located in a small hollow and is relatively easy to find. A babbling brook runs the length of the park and the entire park is well-kept and nicely landscaped with flowers and several paths and foot bridges. Tom, the manager, could not have been more pleasant (loved the welcome muffins) and the cable and Wifi were free...

Tom has created a lovely little campground, located only a block off of the bike trail. If you like blue grass music, be sure to stop by the community center on Thursday night for a free concert. Galax is the next town over and has a nice downtown area that is making a comeback with stores and BBQ (and a...

We stayed 2 nights here in October. It is a very nice park and the owners are very pleasant and accomodating. Sites are nice and it's easy to pull in and park. Can handle large RV's. Bathrooms/showers are very nice, always clean and heated. Full hookups including cable and internet. Can ride bikes directly to the New River Trail. Cellular...

We stayed for almost a week and overall, had a wonderful and relaxing time. It's about 20 miles off I-77, nestled in a hollow across from New River State Park and trail, surrounded by tall trees. The owner was great, always available and took obvious care of his park. Sites are hard packed pea gravel, fairly level with conveniently located...
