The room and facility was clean. The only real problems we had was waiting oh so looong for hot water at shower time, and the HVAC unit in our room had a loud rattle. Don’t hesitate to stay there though.

If you catch it at White's Ferry it's about 5 miles or you can go all the way up to point of rocks, md which is about 13 miles. The Ferry costs money (around $5 or $6) to go across and can be closed down due to high water or ice depending on when you are coming to the area. Taking 15 north towards either location can be dangerous due to traffic if you plan to ride a bike to the locations; however more people take White's Ferry if they plan to do that. If you're driving there's parking on the MD side of White's Ferry and plenty of parking at point of rocks.
