We stayed here for 3 nights. Breakfast was substantial and expat staff were amazing, providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately our first 5 minutes were spent communicating with a rather stand-offish Burmanese manager who didn't seem to care if we stayed there or not. Thankfully a young German lady, Nini, who spoke fluent English, ensured we had a smooth stay and...

The view was excellent but the food was less than desired. Club sandwich did not look appetizing and the fries seemed over-fried...hard and not served hot. Service was pleasant but not attentive. You do see staff loitering around and looks disinterested. Great place to spend an afternoon but don't expect anything else from the restaurant.

We chose this place because of the colonial heritage. It is an old red brick detached colonial house, a little bit tatty inside, but set in lovely gardens on the outskirts of Maymyo, and with a wooden deck in front on which to eat snacks and breakfast. The rooms are later date bungalow style set a slight distance from the...

I don't know of other hotels in this town, our room was quite spacious and was more or less clean. The breakfast and dinner (as it was late we had no options) was not to be recommended... although the dinner was cheap! It had a nice garden so you can relax outside. Some of the stuff seemed to have seen...

The hotel is very nice and charming from the outside with a colonial house and small bungalows, right at the lake side and the entrance of the botanical garden. But this is the only attraction of the place. Rooms are very basic, very cold and humid with some muld on ceiling. The house inside is dirty and not used as...

In an old formee mansion of the British military secret service, it is great drinking a beer on the veranda in the sunset, with pleasant temperatures because of the high altitude. Near the beautiful botanical gardens and with the sound of tropical birds around you in the sleeping bungalow, with a lot of space. The terrace in the garden in...

Great location, rooms are well-appointed but the breakfast was horrible. Also the erstwhile sitting room was badly decorated. They had a curtain dividing the room with broken furniture etc stored on one side. I would attribute the poor state due to the hotel manager. If the hotel gets a new manager - and gets its kitchen in order- this hotel...

We stayed one night. The Kandawgyi Hill Resort is a colonial style building with a beautiful outside, surrounded by bungalows. Everything looks tired, there is not much atmosphere. In the late afternoon it was nice to sit on the terrace in front of the main building for tea or (very expensive) cocktails. It is located close to the Kandawgyi Botanical...

We have stayed in this hotel twice now, and going back again next week - we choose to stay in a bungalow in the garden - ask for one near the back - away from the generator! The staff are friendly and helpful - the bungalow rooms are darkish, but comfortable with a huge bed - bathroom is adequate with...

Excellent place to stay and very important, the rooms have heating and that is very pleasant as it can get close to freezing at night. The restaurant has an opener place where they burn some charcoal to heat the room at breakfast and dinner time.
