True, the Governor's House is 5 minutes walk away but I was told by the hotel that it had been closed since 2007 other than a cafe/tee house. Much of the advertising I have seen shows the Governor's House as an hotel which is not the case. Notwithstanding the Aureum Hotel is very nice, it consists of bungalows surrounding what...

The rooms/bungalows are very large with a seating area and enormous bathrooms - all very clean, in good condition and nicely styled. Not sure why the hotel insists on using pictures of the Governor's House which is a museum which has some bedrooms - you can only hire the whole place and it costs about $2000 a night (not sure...

We were disappointed not to be able to book a room in the Governor's House itself, but in the end it did not matter. Aureum resort is very nice - roomy chalets set in lovely gardens and we still managed a private tour of the Governor's House. The staff were friendly and tried hard - the restaurant is not amazing...

This hotel has little cabins for rooms, which are spacious, comfortable and nicely finished. We also had an very good evening meal here and the cocktails were also good. Breakfast was more basic, but adequate. Our only issue was with the hot water - none of us got a hot shower the whole time we were there. Also, because some...

Stayed in a deluxe room. Rooms are new, clean, large for two persons, quiet and private. Bathrooms are well organized with bathtubs and big as well. Its a beautiful resort with gorgeous landscaping. Everything was great. Love it.

Lovely villa type room in a very nice setting. Very close to the Governor's House. There isn't many facilities in the hotel. The food was not really up to scratch. They could do a lot better for a hotel of this sort.

The rooms are located in small buildings well-spaced throughout the property. Rooms are spacious and clean, very quiet. Grounds are among the pines. Early morning was beautiful with a mist among the pines. Only reason that this was a 4 rating instead of a 5 is that there isn't a real bar area, only a small bar in the dining...

Overall I would rate this hotel very good. But unfortunately they do not offer swimming pool for my children. The breakfast was decent but limited choice. Surrounding was quiet and very scenic especially at the backyard. Good location. The staffs were so helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very badly managed and does not offer at all what the website promises. The rooms are okay, but definitely do not correspond to the price you pay (they are quite run-down and not the cleanest). It was very hard to communicate with the staff, as nobody really spoke English. Ultimately, the Spa and the boutique shop greatly...
