I stayed at La Bocona for three nights and absolutely LOVED my time there. The hotel is beautifully restored, featuring huge rooms with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Right outside our door was a refreshing swimming pool, which we dipped into several times a day. The bathrooms are not ensuite, which was not an issue at...

We aim to deliver as close to an authentic colonial experience as possible and it is wonderful that you enjoyed that aspect of our hotel so much! I am thrilled that you had a great time and felt right at home with us. As a side note, we did install air conditioning in the Classic Colonial Suites (your guestroom type)...

This converted grand colonial residence is in a central location in Granada, just a short walk form the main square, banks and market. It is peaceful and has attractive courtyards. The staff are delightful, especially Olga! The bedrooms are huge with high ceilings and fans which helps to keep them cooler but there is a short walk to the bathrooms,...

We took the Colonial suite for eleven nights (an unusual length when the average stay is two to three nights and got a 25% discount) We chose the most expensive suite because we wanted two beds and only that one offers it. The pros : there are only six rooms and a lot of space, the staff ( Olga ,Margarita...

We love to travel to beautiful colonial places. La Bocona by far is the best. What made it the best is because of the people that works at the hotel. From the first you meet, Miguel, there is always a smile on his face. Very welcoming and friendly. He is also the best person to ask on what to do...

Thank you so much for your review. It means so much coming from a fellow hotelier! We definitely want all potential guests to know that we will warmly welcome them and look after them well. We have a beautiful setting but, the caring staff is what really ensures the memorable, good experience. We miss you two so much---What a treat...

La Bocona is a superb example of the local architecture and is impeccably kept. The breakfast and afternoon snack are quite good and included in the expensive price. However, all the rooms are along the street, and since Granada drivers approach all corners honking their horns, sleep is quite difficult. In addition, despite the price there is no air conditioning....

Thank you for having stayed with us! This time of year in Granada draws a lot of visitors to our small city. With more cars, more pedestrians and festivities on the narrow streets, it is noisier than usual in the historical district. This last month has been one of record temperatures and unusual weather events in Nicaragua. The owner of...

We just stayed a total of four nights at this lovely hotel. We had the very spacious suite with two double beds. The two courtyards, one with a very nice pool, have several sitting areas and are great for hanging out, providing a quiet oasis for relaxing. We spent quite a bit of time at the hotel, in between exploring...

It was our pleasure to host you and your family-- twice--during your trip to Nicaragua! Your stay directly contributed to the community as half our income is donated to a local educative community center that also serves meals to the less fortunate. We appreciate your support of our mission. Thank you so much for having chosen our Hotel and for...

This is one of the harder hotels to rank because when we walked in we were astounded by the beauty of the courtyards and our room with the intricate tile floor, four post bed, antique wood furniture and huge ceilings. But those 20 ft ceilings were a huge part of the problem. We were at La Bocona in December for...

Thank you very much for your frank review and for the compliments about the hotel. This restoration is a labor of love and clearly you noticed. It sounds like Granada was not as enjoyable as you had hoped and the truth of the matter is that it is not for everyone. The heat can be very difficult, especially for those...

This 2nd visit to Hotel la Bocona was as glorious as my last. Many of the hotel staff speak English and they are all gracious and friendly. This resored spanish villa maintains its colonial charms, with beautiful spacious rooms, sparkling pools, and period art and furniture, transporting you back to another era. Enjoy a delicious, traditional breakfast, sip a mimosa...
