I stayed here with my wife and mother-in-law (room w/ two queen beds). We had a nice stay. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located and has pool and has colonial features. Our room had hot water, A/C, cable tv, mini fridge, and access to a private courtyard. The only opportunity for improvement IMHO was the breakfast, which was just okay.

We loved eating at this venue! We ended up having lunch here 3 days in a row. The service is friendly, the meals come out promptly and they taste great! You have a choice of beef, chicken, fish or pork as the meat and it comes with sides of fried plantains, salad and rice. A drink of typically Jamaica Agua is included too and they series include little free extras such as a taster of soup. The meal is inexpensive being between 110c-125c. They accept cash only.

For the first time since the uprisings of 2018 a few tourists are returning to Nicaragua which is a very beautiful country. Although I would not recommend travelling here on your, travelling with an organized tour is now quite feasible. One of the stops will certainly be the old colonial city of Granada which has an architectural identity created by the wars and fires of the mid 1800s. Everything basically dates from after that time including the Hotel Casa del Consulado. It is located only two short blocks away from the main plaza and cathedral which may be the most recognizable building in all of Central America. There are only 14 rooms which are quite large and centred around an open courtyard. There are some nice paintings on the walls of volcanoes and lakes. Breakfast is included and is served individually rather than as a buffet and it's quite good. There is also a bar and a pool which is great for cooling off in Granada's very hot afternoons. Our room was on the second floor and had an outdoor patio. The internet works well and you can get a few english channels on the tv. Overall this place is a safe oasis in this interesting city.

Good location. Large room with two beds. Pool was almost private. Helpful staff. $80 However, we checked out other hotels and the following looked good. Chocolate Museum Hotel $40 - nice pool. Smaller room i assume. Hotel Grenada has a huge pool- like a resort in the city. Room smaller - $80. Hotel Merced $125 - impressive colonial architecture. Lavish.

We stayed 3 nights in Granada over Christmas and enjoyed the Consulado's colonial architecture, great location, and very helpful staff. Located a short walk from the main square Consulado is a peaceful oasis with beautiful high- ceilinged bedrooms set around a lovely swimming pool and courtyard. During our stay we enjoyed the Masaya night tour, Mombacho zip-lining, Isletas boat trip, Chocolate Museum and many fun evenings on Calle Calzada. Airport pickup was a bonus (arranged by the hotel) as we had not been to Nicaragua before and didnt want to deal with car rental, driving directions etc. Many thanks again to Adria,Rudy, Rolando and team for the warm hospitality and excellent service. Best wishes for 2020!

This place was a great find. Lovely atmosphere in the courtyard and really nice spacious room. Well located and easy to access the rest of the city. They were also able to help us book activities and figure out how to get to Ometepe.

I stayed at Casa del Consulado during the busy Easter week. The place is very well run, clean rooms and nice hot breakfast. The front desk and Geovany provided efficent booking, check-in\ check out and support for a day trip tp Ometepe. It is perfectly located between La Merced and the parqueThe inside secure parking is a big bonus well worth the three minutes walk. The Masaya room had a nice view on the roof tops.Pool was also very clean and refreshing. I would certainly return.

We LOVED our stay at Hotel Casa del Consulado. It took us weeks of researching where to stay for our 4 nights in Granada, we even emailed back and forth with the hotel and they were so nice answering all of our questions. We couldn't be happier with our choice. They picked us up from the Managua airport late on Thursday night (they have an easy to find Hotel Casa del Consulado SUV and the driver had a sign with our names, our flight arrived early, but he was already there waiting for us). It's location is perfect and truly a beautiful hotel with a luscious garden courtyard and pool. The courtyard was so relaxing one night we got takeout to eat there instead of sitting in a restaurant. Our room (Room Oro) was HUGE, on the second floor with a private balcony. Most importantly, the A/C was great which was crucial when we went--it was very hot in early March. The staff really make this hotel great, all of them were so nice and accommodating. Most speak a little english, we felt bad our spanish was so poor. They assisted us on multiple occasions with booking taxis and tours. If you stay here, definitely don't worry about booking tours in advance! We wanted to arrange our activities depending on how we felt that day instead of being tied to a plan and we couldn't have done it without the staff. We were very happy with all of the tours they arranged for us (and our requests were even very last minute!). They were very knowledgeable about the area and recommendations. Someone is also at the front desk 24/7 if you need anything. HIGHLY recommend Hotel Casa del Consulado for your stay in Granada!

I must say that this hotel really surprised me. It is such a masterpiece. The beautiful colonial style architecture and colorful walls impress us and give us a sense of extreme well being The interior and exterior design is superb. The room was so beautiful, spacious and confortable. The gardens and swimning pool are impressive. Everything is so elegant at day or night. The service in the hotel is very efficient and I specially thank Mr. Rudy for being so kind to us. The view from the top floor is very lovely and we can see the catedral and parts of the city. There is a lovely cafe in the hotel and there are always flavoured waters for free. We can also make tea or coffee near the swimning pool. The room had a wonderful terrace on the backyard. The person with whom I exchanged e-mails was really helpful and kind. The location is right in the heart of Granada. Nearby we can find all kinds of restaurants, bars and entertainment. The city is unforgettable as well as this hotel. The breakfast was served near the swimning pool and it is the only thing I reported locally because could be a bit better considering the high standards of this hotel but eventhough it will never prevent me from returning because everything else is top for me. The A/C is very good and the wi-fi too. I must say that two nights was such a short stay in this place because this is the right place not only to visit the city but also to enjoy and get some rest. Finally, I must thank everyone at Casa del Consulado for helping us feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel in the wonderful city of Granada.

Our first stop on our two week trip was Casa Del Consulado, we were picked up at the airport in Managua and enjoyed our drive to Granada. We were two families (4 adults, 4 kids) traveling together and this kicked off the trip perfectly with a little time to relax and stroll through the streets of Granada. We found the rooms perfect for our needs, cool enough to sleep and the food was good to eat in the morning (we went out to eat for all other meals). Our kids loved the pool - especially during those really hot parts of the day. The hotel itself was really quiet. Don't miss out on the Chocolate Mansion, a quick walk away and the tour was thoroughly enjoyed by our kids!
